Rinse it very very well and do a DIY clarifying rinse after, it helps. You can use apple cider vinegar (I forget the exact dilutions you might wanna google to double check but I'm pretty sure it's 1:5 or 1:10 it doesn't have to be precise) or a baking soda scrub :) both are great for your hair on their own anyways~

Oh and also washing it out with your head underwater like in a bath rather than just shower first. I've found that helps :) I usually rinse in a bath that's only half full and then run a short shower to conserve water. It's great because the oil mixes with the bath water so it soaks into your skin and after soaking in it for a bit is the best start I've found for shaving legs, then the shower washes off excess residue :)

I've learned that if you apply the shampoo prior to wetting it it rinse out very well.

I have never had this problem I do coconut oil mask every time I wash my hair I work a real good lather before I rinse it n my hair is amazing since I've been doing the treatment when I first started doing it I would shampoo twice then condition but now I just do it once maybe try that

Idk if its good for your hair but I shampooed it when I accidentally put too much.
