Makeup School Related Question.

I'm at a point in my life where I have no idea what to do as far as school goes. I've been thinking a lot lately about going to school for makeup. I know I'm not the greatest at doing makeup and I would have a lot to learn, but I am more than willing to do what it takes to get there. My problem is figuring out how to find a school and knowing if it's a good school for me and all that. I'd love to do anything with general makeup, and I know a lot of people that do general makeup go into being an esthetician. That's not really where I want to head, I'd like to head more into general makeup leading into possible special FX makeup. I guess my question would be, does anyone have any tips or advice about finding a school besides 'Googling' "makeup schools"?

Hope to hear back from anyone soon. Any kind of advice would be much appreciated! :)
