I've got "dark" blond hair that's dry, curly, thin, and won't grow past my shoulders. In June, I decided to make a resolution to not use heat on my hair as much as I did during the school year. I've FINALLY noticed a slight difference, it's getting a little longer. My problem is, how can I keep this up during the school year? Do you have any fave products that have good ingredients, healthy hair tips, or favorite hair styles you like while growing out your hair?
I'm all Alterna and completely in love with their products. My favorite shampoo/conditioner is the bamboo uv line... They have a bundle out where you can get the serum for free with the shampoo and conditioner. Amazing stuff... And it's not heavy... Feeds your hair nutrients, and will protect your hair from environmental damage. Use a silk or satin pillowcase or at least the highest threadcount you can find. ;) will do wonders for your fragile curls!
Do you get your hair trimmed every couple months? If not, I would recommend that. I'm having the same problem to and I find that Aussie 3minuts miracle is helping me, and I'm trying to reduce breakage.
My hair is also a darker tone of blonde it's cold a "dirty blonde" rather than beach blonde. I am also growing out my hair and i have so pretty good tips and tricks! Try not to straighten your hair..i would reduce it to once a week. Using heated tools is one of the worst things for hair because it pulls on the scalp and damages the hair leaving 'dead ends' if you use a good heat protector it helps a little.Check out my videos if you want a couple of heatless hairstyles! Another thing that i just discovered and really LOVE are curling wands. All you have to do is take a shower then towel dry it slightly so it is still damp. After proceed to take the wands and twist your hair around them and bend up the tips or the wands to hold. If you go to bed with them in and get up you will wake up with beautiful curls/waves! They truly do work and they come out beautiful, i would definitely give them a try ( you can get them for like $7 at Sally's Beauty Supply :) I will be posting pictures of how they come out and a tutorial video soon! Also my I have the Paul Mitchel super skinny serum and i put it in every night after taking my shower my hair dresser says that it has nothing but nutrients in it and it protects your hair ( plus makes is soft ) it's definitely made my hair healthier!
