I am at the early stages of my freelance career, I've done the freebies and want to start charging. Does anyone have any guidelines as to how much to charge clients.
I have one bride and some members of the bridal party coming up.
Check with other freelance artist in your area on what they charge. You don't want to undercut them but at the same time, you want to be paid what you are worth.
It truly depends upon 1. whats in your kit, 2. your experience

How much does your local counter charge for a special event makeup? Use that figure then factor in your overhead costs as a freelancer. That would be a basic place to start.
Also, what type of services will you be offering? Your rates depend on type/area of makeup. For example, Bridal rates and On Set rates are completely different.
I own a mobile service and will say that it depends on your experience, the area you will work in, and the type of brides you'll be marketing your services to. Also traditional or airbrush. Best of luck to you!!!

I network as much as I can. Also, look at fb pages to look at their websites. Most artist (like me) have their prices listed.
