hi i waxed my friends chest and he broke out really bad. normally the bumps will go away but it actually scarred and became dark. I followed all my regular procedures, such as prepping the skin, cleansing, powder, then after waxing cleaning up with wax remover. I have been waxing for 4 years now and haven't had any problems like this. Can you help me figure out what i did wrong?
thank you so much! Your comment made me remember that just a few hours after waxing he put thick creams on his chest because he was scarred of the bumps. I told him not to put anything on it but he didn't listen... This whole situation kind of busted my bubble cause you know how friends are critics but now i got a little confidence back! Thanx again!
No problem! Yeah, thats the worst thing you could do after waxing. Next time someone comes to you with break outs just tell them that the hair pockets (don't know how you call it in english) are wide open for the first 48hr. If that gets dirty (sweat, lotions, etc.) the skin will try to fight that and that looks like zits.
I'm a professional wax technician at The Wax Bar here in holland so i see people with skin problems almost daily and mostly just because they didnt stick to the cleaning routine .. such a shame.

The most important thing is keeping The skin as clean as possible for the first 48 hours after waxing! No perfume-like or soap
