The Corel is my favourite program out of all the ones I've tried and I got it on Amazon (the Ultimate version, which isn't really any different from the regular version) so the price varies from day to day. I got it for around 30 dollars.

I'm wondering if it would be either equally or more helpful to the deaf/HOH community if more beauty vloggers/gurus did written tutorials to supplement or complement their videos? I'm asking because it seems to me a written tutorial (even one with accompanying photos for each step) may be more beneficial.

Another thought I had re: written tutorials is this. Fandoms on Tumblr are excellent at turning various movie scenes (and sometimes Youtube videos) into animated GIFs, often with dialogue included. I wonder if this is another thing that could work for the deaf, as a supplement to a written tutorial? For example, if someone is showing a blending or application technique in a video, that particular segment could be turned into an animated GIF and inserted into a blog post with written instructions.

Am I making sense here? :)

Now I know what you meant by saying that the youtube transcript thing is ridiculous... It didn't understand many words.. But I think it is great to add captures! It is done so fast with this:D

Rikki P. I've been reading this thread since you posted it because I had a deaf aunt (she is no longer here with us) and I couldn't help but notice that you come off a bit angry in some of your responses towards peoples ideas or suggestions. I understand your side of the matter in regards to wanting CC video but you really can't be mad at those who refuse to post in CC. Some folks are just not technically savvy or have the patience to do so. If you really want to be heard by the powers that be at YT I suggest setting up a Change.org petition and spread the word that YT needs to make the CC option more user friendly so the deaf community can also enjoy the videos.

I've not been angry at any response, actually...

(Until now, possibly.)

And if/when I'm mad, I can be mad at certain rude and disrespect responses, which none of the responses on beautylish have been, but elswhere. If there's one thing we don't want, it's hearing people telling us we can't be mad at these things that we personally deal with every day, hahaha. I'm sorry, but please don't tell us not to be mad about something that is extremely important to us and something that we really need. Despite the fact that you had a deaf aunt, unless you yourself are deaf or hard of hearing, you won't understand or completely understand what it's like. They're not technical savvy? Well, that's why I'm telling them how they can do it and the other options there are. I'm helping. I'm teaching. They don't have the patience? Probably because they don't know how long it takes. All these comments telling me they had no idea CC could even exist or they just didn't think about it. I'm telling them how long it should take, so they might end up having some patience. Unfortunately, we've done the change.org petition route and it didn't change anything so now I'm making ourselves known elsewhere.

Hahahaha, KIRAKIRANAIL, that is exactly what I mean. It's crazy.

@Rikki P. I didn't say you couldn't be upset but you are directing your anger at people who are offering advice/suggestions and coming across as not being friendly on your end. I understand you need and want this service in place but don't bite our heads off for it sharing our ideas. Yes, you're correct...I don't know what its like to not to be deaf or hard of hearing. I did see first hand the limitations she faced and she dealt with them without anger towards to hearing or bitterness which is the mood you are giving off. I'm happy that you are educating people but it can be done without the attitude towards those who are merely sharing ideas. Just because the change.org petition route didn't work the first time doesn't mean you should simply throw in the towel and not try it again. Write to the local news stations and voice this issue to the media. A grassroots effort always manages to catch fire and mushroom into something bigger. If you like I can even help you write a press release giving attention to this issue. You are very passionate about this for good reason and I get that but don't ever give up on reaching all avenues to get your voice to be heard and please don't direct your anger to folks who aren't in your shoes who are simply trying to help. :)

I really wish you'd please stop telling me not to be angry/stop biting people's heads off because I'm not being angry and I just said that I'm not and haven't been to clear things up, hahaha. I rarely use (or don't use a lot all the time) lol's and emoticons with people I'm not extremely friendly with, but that doesn't mean I'm being angry/directing my anger (or lack of) at anybody.

So please, stop.

Sorry if I offended you. Just like you were expressing yourself I was doing the same. And if you don't want my assistance for your desire for change I will understand that as well.
