What's the difference between BB cream and tinted moisturizer?? Lately I've been seeing BB cream every where and I'm always so tempted to buy it but I don't know what it isn someone help!!

BB Cream is similar to tinted moisturizer, its light weight, evens out your skin tone, has SPF and ideal for summer due to the hot weather when you don't feel like wearing foundation. I just tried out the Garnier BB Cream and find that one is not good for oily skin, was way too shiny for me so i took it back & got myself the new UD Naked Skin foundation. Anyway, read reviews & do research before you buy a BB Cream & let me know if you find a good one so i can try it too! :-)

Its a step- up from tinted moisturizer. For me personally I've found success with Smashbox bb cream and Bobbi Brown's bb cream. Like @Mary P mentioned it is best to get samples first because the colors can vary so much from brand to brand. I also tried Too Faced Beauty Balm but that has a shimmer to it.

I have the maybellune BB I have combination skin and I feel I get oily very quickly I don't think I recommend it! Has anyone tryed the illamasqua skin foundation I hear is light ! Help and what colour is suitable for an NC45 skin ?

A good BB cream should offer additional skin treatment benefits like anti-aging, wrinkle improvement, etc. For example, the Boscia BB cream claims to help "diminish the appearance of pores, fine lines, and uneven skintone." I use BB creams often in place of foundation (much like a tinted moisturizer in usage). You should definitely try a few samples if you can (like at Sephora) or read reviews on drugstore brand BB creams. Good luck! =)

BB Creams were originally conceived by the medical community, for those with major facial scarring, if I'm not misremembering. They hit the Asian markets as a make-up product for all-in-one bases, and are much, much thicker than their western counterparts. They contain a million different claims, such as (listing from the last BB Cream I had; Skin79 Hot Pink) SPF 25/PA++, skin whitening (evening out skintone - redness, etc), anti-aging, sebum control - among others. They last forever - it took me well over a year to finish my last one, and that was using it in all sorts of ways!

But western BB Creams aren't really that much different to tinted moisturisers, TBH. Though I do hear some of the newer released BB Creams are thicker and more akin to Asian BB Creams.

I really like clinique's BB cream, it's a bit thicker so you get heavier coverage than just a tinted moisturizer. Also it is formulated with ingredients that are found in original asian BB creams. I think Clinique is the closest you'll get to the original stuff in the western market. Although that might be changing if what @Nic says is true.
