About 8 months ago I was going to an Aveda Cosmo school and fell head over heels (even more than I was before) with Aveda.
I practically use only Aveda but I noticed that with the cream cleanser I started getting raised, red, hot, painful, and rock hard blemishes. Not sure that's what I should call it but it was definitely not a pimple and when I attempted to rid of it via popping it would just bleed, there was never any puss or white substance to come out.
Just wondering if anyone else happened to have anything similiar with this product or any other product or if they happen to know why it might have happened.
It didn't start happening until I used it daily and as soon as I switched face wash product it stopped happening!
:(
With botanical based products everyone is under the assumption that its the better for your skin. That if it comes from the ground than it has to be good for you. Not so. I just showed this post to my hubby who is a chemist and without knowing what product you used and the ingredient list he can't say what could possible be the culprit (botanical science was actually his love during his studies). But he said to definitely stop using it and head to a dermo if the blemishes still remain.
Hi Jerri, I'm sorry to hear you had to experience that with the Aveda BK Cream Cleanser. You are not the only one! First let me introduce myself. I'm Jessica and I'm an Aveda trained licensed esthetician with 5 years of experience with working with Aveda products. I have to admit, I am not a fan of the Botanical Kinetics line. It is very hit or miss for a lot of people's skin. With any botanical based product, unfortunately many people don't realize that they may have allergic reactions to certain ingredients in them. Specifically the BK line, I've seen many of my guests have the same type of reaction to their skin and I definitely recommend for them to stop using the product immediately. Continuing use of the product is only going to irritate the skin more. But there is hope that your experience and love for Aveda products is not over! Fortunately Aveda has created better and more specialized skin care products in their collections and just because the cream cleanser does not work for your skin does not mean that the same ingredients are used within other products focused towards the same purpose. If you are using the cream cleanser I would assume your skin type is normal-dry. I definitely recommend you try out the Green Science cleanser. It's AMAZING! I always recommend this as an alternative option to the BK cream cleanser. :)
