What is a good product that I can but that prevent or get rid of blackheads? Before you name a product let me mention this one little detail. Anything that has acne medication, have beads in it, or have a gritty texture I can't use because my face will have an allergic reaction to it. Thanks in advance for those who are going to give me some suggestions.
I use the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask and it's like a miracle product. It's only about 4 or 5 bucks for a big bottle at Ulta, so at that price I assumed it wasn't going to be very good. However, I read a ton of reviews that were right - this mask is awesome! It's a clay mask with a bit of sulphur in it and it draws out oil and blackheads. Sounds really gross, but you can totally see it all drawn to the surface of the mask once it dries. Smells minty too :)
I use it for about 30 mins on my t-zone once a week and it really clears up my skin and leaves it glowing.
When you say you're allergic to acne medication, what ingredient exactly irritates you?
Something important when you are trying to prevent/get rid of blackheads is using a BHA exfoliator. BHAs aka salicylic acid actually help clear the pore from the inside out. A drugstore product that I use that has 2% salicylic acid is the Neutrogena Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment Lotion. (Long name!) Only a dime size drop for your whole face once or twice a day will start to help your skin.
Second, would be a mask like Courtney mentioned. The Queen Helene one is great because, like she said, you can see the oil being sucked up when the mask has dried! This helps keep oil production on the face to a minimum so there is a lesser chance of clogged pores.
Finally, I don't recommend pore strips because they can damage the skin and pores and potentially make your problem worse. They are relatively harsh on skin and for someone with sensitive skin like you, you wouldn't want to irritate it more.
Sorry for the long post. I tend to get carried away, haha! Hopefully some of this will work for you!
Thanks everyone for your help. I know for a fact I'm allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicyic acid but maybe it depends on how much is in a product. I'll try some of these products out and hopefully my face won't swell and itch. Lol
