For those of you who are military or family members and shop at the PX I have a question for you. Is it better to buy makeup from a site like Sephora or from the PX? On one hand, the PX has better prices and no taxes but Sephora had rewards programs.
I plan on building up my makeup collection soon and purchasing a lot soon and can't decide which is better. If I'm not mistaken though the PX doesn't carry MAC right? That would probably influence my decision to shop at Sephora.
I'm Air Force and we have the BX--same thing. Perks to the BX is that you can see/try on the products. You usually save a couple of dollars too. I order through Sephora if the BX doesn't carry it and I already know the product. Otherwise, I've got a shoebox full of misfire lipsticks that remind me to try it before I buy it!
My dad was in the military and my best friends are in the military. They'd tell me how they love shopping at the PX. I say go with the PX! If they don't carry what you want then try the original stores.
You should ask Sephora if they exempt you from paying sales tax for being military. One retailer I worked for we exempted active military members from paying sales tax on items (just had to present current military i.d.). It's worth contacting Sephora customer service and asking.
I am a Military Wife, and shop at both the PX (Exchange) and Sephora. As far as i know, PX does not carry MAC. I never see it there, PX has some cosmetics (such as Clinique) but not all, yes its nice to not pay taxes but ask yourself what you prefer? do you want variety? or limited selection just to save a few bucks? This is what I do: I buy what I need that is available at the PX, then get whatever I want at Sephora that the PX doesn't carry. I like saving money but I also like variety :-)

Thank you for the advice ladies. I think I'll see if Sephora has a discount, if not I'll shop at both :)
