I like to use a primer under my foundation because I've noticed it helps it to last and eye primer is a must for me because I don't want to reapply eyeshadow so I use lime crime eye shadow helper LOVE IT

I always wear primer. I use face, eyeshadow and eyelash primer. I need to get some lip primer from E.L.F.
I usually get mine from E.L.F. or MUA since they are both very cheap quality makeup.

I'm a strong believer in Priming.
I don't always prime my face but when I do I prefer to use non oily types of primer such as MUFE HD primer or Physician's Formula Primer.
I always prime my lids with something. It's such a routine that I feel I'm breaking my ritual if I dont apply it. I use both UD primer potion and MAC PP in Soft Ochre. sometimes I only use one if I'm only going some where for a few hours, but for all day wear I apply both.

I've heard the Monistat chafing gel is a good primer for your face. Has anyone tried it?

I do use the Monistat chafing gel and I like it. However, I have to qualify that I haven't really used anything else. I just recently (6 mons) started priming, and I most definitely notice an awesome difference in how my makeup applies and lasts. I had read about the chafing gel on many other blogs and I had read a beauty editors' 'test drive' of the gel (http://www.glamour.com/beauty/blogs/girls-in-the-beauty-department/2009/02/i-wore-monistat-on-my-face-las.html) and decided to try it. I mean, seriously, it's only $8. I've spent way more on things 'just to try.' Also, it was difficult to find. I had to go to like, 3 different drugstores in my city to find it. It seems that places like Target and Rite Aid don't carry the product, but CVS does.
If my budget opens up at some point, I want to try the Smashbox or MUFE primers to compare, but for now this works great for the price. I have skin that is not breakout prone and the gel does not encourage break outs on my skin, but you may want to do more research if you do have skin that will break out easily.

I ALWAYS prime. Face and eyes. If I don't prime my face then I find that my foundation both is sliding off my face and doesn't look as good, and it's not even an option to not prime my eyelids, they're so oily that anything I put on them is gone in five minutes.

I wasn't putting Primer before, but one day I saw that it's on sale in a Sephora store... so I gave it a try! And it's amazing! I could really see the difference, no oils, your face would just looks clearer, and fresh. :) I would really recommend you to put on Primer. I am currently using Sephora's anti briallance zero. :) I am willing to try new primers, so all of the other suggestions are all helpful too!
