You can do box braid ,yarn braids aka genie locs Senegalese twist you can do crochet braid you can wear wigs the opportunities are endless love . M only suggestion to you is if you do try any of these styles please make sure you deep condition your hair and blow it out to give it some length to catch especially if your "tender~headaded". If you do try the genie locs i would wait till its cold to try it because it does keep you a lil warm . my profile pic is my first attempt at Senegalese twist but the attached pic is my genie locs.
congrats on your big chop! i don't have any product recommendations since there are many you could try. the thing about products is something that might work on someone else might not work for you.
like cerita s. suggested you could try box braids or yarn braids. personally i either wear a fro or two-strand twists and twist-outs.
I swear by water and vegetable glycerin mix as a moisturizer. I've tried a bunch of products but basically I stick with the Shea moisture line, shea butter, coconut oil and peppermint oil.
I did my big chop a month and half ago and right now I'm rocking Yarn braids. I have 4b/c hair. What kind of products are you looking for? Shampoo and Conditioner, styling, deep condition? You have try out to get what works for you. It can be so many different combo's that'll work for you. My hair loves mane n' tail, coconut oil, evoo, shea butter (my own mixture) just to name a few.
Make sure you keep your hair moisturized and find a good thick conditioner to cowash with (Aussie Moist is awesome!).Clarify at least once a month. Cowash often and create a spritz to keep your strands hydrated (H20, aloe vera juice, glycerin). Hydration is the key! Deep condition often and find a good gel and styling aid. Don't be a product junkie and try to keep your regimen as simple as possible. Hope that helps!
