Use a good concealer and foundation! Hard candy has a great camouflage concealer that almost cover up anything and it is really cheap! You can buy it at Walmart!!!!
primers are great to fill in some pores and maybe a bit of scaring, depending on how much coverage you want, your foundation should be medium or full, remember not to cake foundation because this only makes things that are bad to look worst, concealers are amazing with the hyperpigmentation, MAC's studi finish concealer is the extre of concealer world, but I know that even though MAC is good, but DERMABLEND is just the holy grail of foundation and concealer to cover anything up, check those and see if you find a bit of what I wrote useful :)
