I have a wet to straight conair. which works quite well. and I bought an Amika a few years back. but it completely fried my hair...any suggestions? I heard GHD was a good brand. Is it?!
I've never used GHD, BUT the BESTTTT straightener I have EVER used is one by Conair called InfinitePRO and coming from a girl who has SERIOUSLY curly, poofy hair! This straightener is amazing!! it was only 20 or 40 bucks I believe! And compared to all the oother 60-160$ I've gotten, it doesn't pull my hair, damage my hair, my hair stays straight till i wash it again and it has a natural oil in it which it gives to hair while straightening! Hope this helps you out!

Chi is fantastic, if u want to prevent damage to your hair I'd suggest using a pre-heat treatment spray in your hair before flat ironing to help prevent damage/split ends and drying out. Always use oils/extra conditioners when running hot tools through your hair :)
I have a chi air which is pretty fabulous...also, last year at Marshall's I needed a new straightener bc my old one broke, so I got a cheap Ed hardy one...surprise! It worked AMAZING on my hair, and my hair is naturally thick and curly, my hairdresser uses babyliss and swears by it!
I hate to say it, but any heat styling tool from a curling iron to a flat iron to a dryer is going to damage your hair no matter what.
I would recommend getting a flat iron that has 100% solid ceramic plates and also temperature control. 100% ceramic plates has even heat distribution so there are no hot spots that can burn your hair. Also, the option to control temperature is also helpful in not damaging your hair.
One last tip, make sure that your hair is completely DRY.
Btw, I use a NuMe Fashionista Flat Iron and it is AMAZING.
Ghd is the best! A close second is a Chi flat iron. Also, Aveda's Style Prep Smoother Smooth Infusion is an AMAZING heat protectant which costs your hair's cuticle and keeps the hair from getting frizzy

Mindy is right regarding heat styling. It doesn't matter what you use; heat styling products will do a number on your hair no matter what.

I actually just ordered a new flat iron, as my Revlon ones were starting to not cut it anymore. The one I got has titanium and tourmaline plates.
