For example, can I wear a skirt, a top and high heels for high school? What do you usually wear to school/work? :) What do you think that makes the outfit too dressy?

In my high school days I mostly wore shirts and jeans. Sometimes cargo pants. I didn't really dress up much unless I absolutely had to. I think I dressed up for school more often when I was younger.
Anyway, personally, I wouldn't wear a super high heel, especially if you have to do a lot of walking up and down corridors and stairs. Not unless it's a wedge.
How long (or short?) is the skirt? If it's more on the short side, maybe a shorter heel would work better.

I've seen maybe two girls in my high school wear heels..I wouldn't say it's common to do, maybe a shorter 3-inch heel or wedge would be more appropriate :) school was a casual event for me so I never really dressed up everyday, but still put effort into my outfits. I wore lace-up wedge boots a lot with skinny jeans, cute jewelry, and a nice top, i was never into t-shirts. The only thing that would be too dressy in my opinion is heels that are around the 5 inch mark or higher, that's a bit much for school.

As long as the dress code says it's okay, wear whatever you want.
That's what I think.
If I could go back in time, I would have dressed up a little bit better like I do now. Heels included.

The heels make it to fancy. Try a nice pair of flats! The skirt is fine and the shirt to! I'm that kind of girl too! Don't forget to be comfy sometimes...
