Hello, Ladies. My name is Ashley. Unlike most of you, I do not blog very often. I've also, never filmed a YouTube video!! Believe me, I would love to, but my schedule is too hectic!!! I barely have time to sleep..lol. Social Networking is a job, in and of itself! ... I'm looking into a new business venture, that would supply Professional Websites and Portfolios for Beauty Professionals. The cost would be 1/3 of what traditional website design companies would charge and you would have the option to manage the site yourself! Unlike social networking sites, when a potential client visits "YOUR" site, YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON THEY SEE!! I have multiple ideas to incorporate and the site would be super easy to manage. I'm also considering including, coordinating business cards, leather bound portfolios and other marketing materials. This opportunity would give you all of the necessary materials, to start and run your "Own Business"! No exact cost yet, but I know it will be less than $500.00. and a payment plan will be available. Starting a new career is no easy task and were not rich yet!! ...Is this an idea that appeals to anyone? Any questions or comments? Do you see potential success?
behance.com is a great portfolio website. You can also go the route of Model Mayhem. The most professional option is to get your own domain name and showcase your work that way. BluDomain (http://bludomain.com/) has great layouts, are SEO friendly, and are a good price
Try wix.com Its a web building website. You can create your own from scratch or use the website templates already made, to showcase your makeup art work.
I would actually suggest posting portfolios in every place that allows you to post photos. The more you network your work, the better. I use at least a dozen sites. Don't rule out Facebook [which is an amazing networking tool], HERE, makeupbee, makeuptalk, specktra, any place that allows you to upload and save your pictures to a gallery.
My cousin when she needed to put a portfolio online (hers was her art work to get a job... She's now working with BBC) she used word press if you write into google Wordpress free blog you will find it :) I'm sure whatever you use will really help and I'll be really interested in checking it out if you could send me the link?!?! X
Since I'm beginning, I'm using Flickr to put my pictures on. I also don't have much money to spend on a domain or anything so this is a good start for me and then I'll move into a professional website
So finally I have enough pictures to start a portfolio but I am not sure where to begin, I do know that I want an online based portfolio. Can you beauties suggest wha is a good domain or website that I can do this in. Your help is much appreciated :)
