I need help! My nails are just unbearable without polish on them. They peel so easily, no matter how much I seem to baby them. What have YOU used to strengthen and help your nails? I wanna know products, prices, and reviews girls! Thanks in advance!!
Sally Hanson does great products for nails, I also have the same problem but recently I purchased their newest polish, Green Tea and Bamboo nail strengthener and my nails have gone stronger and dont peel as much ! :)
Well,I don't really use strengtheners. I did pick up some of these tips tho:
1.Never clip your nails unless very nessecary, only file them.
2.Use Non-Acetone polish remover, the other dries your nails and makes the peel.
3.Always use a basecoat before applying nail polish.
These are basically all the things I do,you could also buy some nail strentheners. Oh! and also! if you do all these things and your nails still dont look good and you ALWAYS need polish on them, put a topcoat on them to protect, strenthen, and make them look nice and healthy!
I think I read somewhere that weak nails have alot to do with your diet as well as keeping your hands moisturised. ( I could be mistaken tho as my memory is a bit off :P)
when mine chip I eat alot of yoghurt, broccoli, carrots and jell-o.
you should check out nivea hand and nail cream. it helped me back in the day, but not so much anymore. I don't know why >:/
sally hansen has tons of nail strengtheners and hardeners. all the ones that ive tried work well for me. the last one i bought from her literally cost me like 2$ and its been working very well :)
I have the same problem, I find keeping them well moisturized seems to help. I start off with sally Hansen VitaSurge strengthening gel and ofter that has soaked in I go over the nail , cuticle and skin at the base of the nail with sally Hansen vitamin E nail oil. I also like to use Burt's Bee's lemon cuticle cream. I also try not to peel my nail polish off because it makes the delaminating worse on my nails.
Orly's "Nail Defense" worked well for me. It's about $8 but I think it's worth it. I used it once a week for awhile and noticed a difference. Sally Hansen's nail hardener also works well and it's inexpensive.
Lacey, I suggest you try "complex for hair nail and skin" vitamins from Nutrilite. it is an organic Vitamin, it has biotin which will help you keep your nails strong. http://www.amway.com/healthyshoppin...
Firstly, i take a biotin supplement. It doesnt matter what type. Mine aids skin, hair, and nails
Secondly, I rarely polish my nails. I rub olive oil or flaxseed oil into my cuticles, nail bed, and nail surface for moisture.
Lastly, if you do polish your nails, make surw to use a base coat first( i like sally hansen), and a gentle polish remover. But, for now I'd let your nails breathe before polishing them anytime soon!
