The summer is coming up and I'm trying to figure out what would work best for that season. I've been looking at you-tube videos and a lot of girls seem to wear tinted moisturizer in the summer due to the heat. What do you fellow beauties think is best for the North East Summer heat?
hello, I don't know how many of people does this but I mix my foundation to my day cream :) So it basically comes to a tinted moisturizer. This trick is also very good if you have too dark foundation!
Tinted moisturizers (in my opinion) are very sheer so you won't get a lot of coverage. As far as I know they are very limiting...colorwise. I don't know about other companies but for example MAC only has 3 different shades so unless you happen to match one of those perfectly...the color will be off. I think a lof of foundations have SPF 10 so that's not too bad. You can always get a SPF mosturizer such as Oil of Olay etc. I think tinted moisturizers are only SPF 15.
A lot depends on your skin and desired amount of coverage, as well as your actual climate. In my 20's I only ever used tinted moisturizer, but my skin isn't as young as I am so I need more coverage now regardless of the season. That said, I've also found that tinted moisturizers don't hold up as well in the humidity as powder or mineral foundations do. I personally use a tinted moisturizer (after my day cream) and then do a mineral foundation over that. Then again, I'm crazy pale and need to layer my spf.
in my opinion, foundations can be thicker and make he hotter in the summer vs tinted moisturizer or instead of using a tinted moisturizer, try to just conceal ur spot and under eye, then blend it out with powder. This works for me when i dont want to wear either!
I live at the beach so even during the spring time its way too hot for me to wear foundation. I recently just got mark's get a tint tinted moisturizer with my mark rep starter kit and it really does work well. Its really light and non greasy. I have very oily skin and it works great on me. But if you need more coverage on certain areas you might have to use a bit of concealer, but its still better than foundation plus concealer. I wouldn't even consider foundation during the summer. I live in Miami Beach, so the humidity, plus the fact that my face unfortunately produce more oil than a country in the Middle East just makes me side more with a tinted moisturizer. /:
i think it depends on how much coverage you like. i love the feel of a tinted moisturizer during the summer. its very lightweight and doesnt feel heavy on the face which is always nice for the heat. you could try something like MAC's face and body foundation. its very light on the face, but have a tad bit more coverage than a tinted moisturizer.
Thank you ladies! I'm defiantly going to try out your suggestions. @AVONLEA S. and Megan N., I wish I saw this before Saturday. I purchased the Laura Mercier which was 45 bucks including tax. :(
No problem :) if you order the mark tinted foundation you can use the promo code " welcome " and it should give you free shipping if you have never ordered there before
I personally like MAC tinted moisturizer in the summer. It has SPF 15 built into the product, which is nice, and it gives you light to medium coverage. Another product I like to use in the summer is Luminess or Dinair airbrush foundation. You can purchase the foundation online and apply it with your fingers or a brush....you don't have to have a machine. It's light on the skin and buildable depending on type of coverage you're looking for.

North easter here! I prefer tinted moisturizers! They are easy to apply, have sun protection and are light on your skin:)
