Im 43 years old and have been in the industry for 9 years. The core of my work is National television. I am always trying to learn new things and meet with new and upcoming artists.

This is what I want to do, I love it, I love doing make up for my friends and their young ladies, and prom and weddings I've always just done it never really thinking that it could actually become a career! But I ran across the QC Academy, and just started DREAMING!!! Haha One day soon I am hoping to do this as a career, how fabulous would that be? And actually get paid for something that I love love love to do! I love helping women feel, look and be confident, I have learned that when a women feels beautiful she feels confident, and her stride is a lot more FIERCE! Kudos!! :)
Hi Raquel, Nice to meet you! I actually left my job at a high end spa to start my profession as a makeup artist. I woke up that night in a panic thinking I screwed up by leaving a well paying job. But I hung in there and just dived right in and never looked back. " Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." So true!

Hi my name is Noemi I'm also new to beautylish and so far i love it i downloaded the app on to my iphone and im constantly on it..i love how we can come here for advice and support its very important there aint a lot of ppl i know that have a passion for makeup as me so i get discouraged a lot but i pick my head up and believe that i can make it in this business. Im only 21 years old so i have a long way to go but my dreams are to be a MUA not even to be famous but just to be successful enough to make a living out of it and be happy with my job. I think thats the most important thing so as of now i just finished cosmetology school here in the Bronx and im looking to expand as a hair dresser and MUA and im looking forward to everything im working towards!!

Nice to meet you! Your on your way. I also went to cosmetology school even though some places dont require a licence to work in makeup. Being able to do hair too is great, since youll be asked to do this sometimes. Dont get discouraged!!!!! As soon as I finished school I took more makeup classes and I continue to keep learning even now. I will say there are lots of artists that make a living out of this. There are so many different areas to work in. I will also say I am not the best makeup artist out there :) however, I stay busy because crew and other clients that book me appreciate the quality of my work, my attitude, and because I get along with everyone. Bottom line, if they hire you and like you, they WILL call you again. I hope this helps!
