So I have had acrylic nails for a year now, and have recently let them grow out drastically. Should I keep them or go back to my real nail!?!?! I love that paint doesn't chip off of my fake nails, but it's often hard to change the color unless I am getting a fill. #hmmmm
Realllllllllll. I love my real nails so much! I change polish whenever I want, and I don't have to deal with accidentally ripping my nail off because I bent an acrylic one back or something stupid like that.
i get acrylic nails quite often, but im starting to decide to stay away from them. for one, its way cheaper to just wear your real nails. and you can change the color of your nails whenever you want, so it doesnt get boring :)
i also think its way better to have real nails in the summer, give them a breather!
I've vowed to never have fake nails, not even on my wedding day. It's not that I don't like them on other people, just not for me I guess. My real nails are really strong.
Real! Acrylic ruins your nails!! Try getting shelac its fine on ur nails and makes them strong! Its a little bit more to get but it lasts a few weeks before it starts to chip!!!
Real nails definitely! I really hate the look that fake nails give, plus you can always take off a design if you realize you don't like it anymore and its much much cheaper and less time consuming.
I think either is fine, but I always do my own acrylic nails at home, using a kit i bought at the drug store. Its really good and always looks really nice (i keep them pretty short and clear)
Also, i then just paint over them! I can change the color as often as i like, and i don't have to pay extra to get them filled! :)
Real i just took off my acrylics and my nails are jacked up... U can change polish with impunity oppose to the acetone bothering the acrylic. Try to grow your own
The bacteria that grows under acrylic nails is absolutely disgusting so i quit getting them done. My nails are week & brittle no matter wat i use but id rather hv them that way than to hv all that bacteria on my nails. If can cause serious problems. I love them but dont like how unsanitary they are.

I used to wear acrylic nails. I'm just too active these days to even bother them. I pratically live in the gym and if I wore them now they wouldn't last a week before they start breaking off (ouch). I keep my natural nails short and squared off. It took my nails a year to fully heal and gain serious length and thickness after 2 years of constant wear. Go natural. :)
Sounds like you should try an overlay. That's what I do. I love my natural nails and they grow pretty long pretty quickly but break easily on their own so I started getting gel overlays and I love it! I don't know why people think you can't take polish or designs off when using acrylic. Just use an acetone free polish remover. I've been getting overlays for about 4 years now and I think my nails are pretty healthy. It's very rare if I break a nail and I've never had a problem with growing my nails back after cutting them all down. I think it depends on the formula you use (acrylic/gel) and the tech you go to.
