Hello everybody!
So, I am planning to do an airbrush makeup course this(2012) july-aug, preferably in NYC. After much looking around I found 2 courses,
1. MUD NY campus
And
2. AOFM
the major difference except for the pricing is that the MUD course is a little longer, which is preferred as I am unsure of how much one can learn in 2-3 days of training but at the same time i have heard mixed reviews about the school. Also, when it come to AOFM, not only is it a 3 day course, but most people have said really good things about it.
Considering im coming from really far (read INDIA), I would want to be very careful of the decision I make, so any advice/info/suggestions/recommendations are much appreciated.
Please help :)
Hi Sonam ,
I am new to Beautylish but I saw your post and would like to offer my suggestion. I actually learned how to airbrush from an instructor that I admired. It was just 2 of us and the class lasted 8 hours. Since it was just us I learned quickly because the focus was on me. I was able to airbrush as soon as the class ended. I'ts not difficult, just takes some practice. So you might want to consider asking a makeup artist if you could take an airbrush instruction class with them instead of going to another type of class at a school. I practiced with water and thinned out drugstore foundation. I airbrush 90% of the time and apply by hand the rest of the time. I like it so much that I now airbrush tan! :) I am self taught with the tanning and lots of clients love this service! Hope this helps.
Thank you so much Pamela. J & ORLANÉ B.
@ Pamela: Like I mentioned, i am coming from India so wouldn't know too many local makeup artists there. Any suggestions on names? also any views on the occ workshops?
@ORLANÉ B.: Thanks for the help but I'm only going to ba able to do a course in july or august, any thing you know around those dates?
Sonam C,
There are many great schools out there for training. OCC is good too.
I'ts a matter of preference and if I personally was going to attend a class myself I would go to Dinair or Temptu. I have worked with both.
Thanks a lot for the replies pretty people! So I finally enrolled myself into cinema makeup school as it is a week long class. Also we will be working on occ airbrush foundations so I am pretty excited by now!

Temptu also has great airbrush training.

I use & was trained in Temptu pro airbrush. And I would highly recommend them!

The best training I've learned is hands out. But like Pamela said, get another airbrush artist to show you the basics.
