Hi! I was wondering if anyone had had the experience of dying their hair black and then having it fade out? My hair was originally dark brown with a mixture of blonde highlights and light brown hair I put in about a year ago, after growing it out till most of the highlights and light brown was gone I dyed my hair all blue black 2x now I'm starting to see brown again after about 3 or 4 weeks and I'm not sure how as I used permanent dye, if this happens on a regular basis whats the best way to keep in the black? I used the brands Garnier and Feria
this is totally normal. my situation is the same as yours: darkbrown hair with highlights. i'm dying my hair blue black for one and a half years now every 4 weeks.
with my hair the brown also starts to see through after 3-4 weeks.
the only thing i can recommend is not to wash your hair to often and to use colourprotection products (shampoo, conditioner and regularly hair masks)
I'd go to the salon if you want long lasting results. I did a few yrs ago and it never faded. It may say permanent on the box but its also box dye so i wouldnt trust it.

I agree, the same thing happened to me. All hair color will fade. When I kept my hair black, I usually dyed it every other month.
