I wanna get some new ideas! What have you girls out there done in the past or are going to do for summer makeup wise? Im graduating June 8th from high school and I really wanna try some nude gloss and lipstick with a gold or natural eye. But I'm open to ideas!! What MAC Lipstick, revlon, covergirl, or whatever is best for summer? And what blush? And what shadow or palette! xx

When I think of summer, I think of light coverage and bronze colors. A typical summer face for me includes a good tinted moisturizer, a bit of concealer, a peachy-pink blush, maybe some bronze or gold shadow to reflect in the sun, mascara and a cute pink or peach lip to match. Eyeliner optional. I'm all about a fresh face. :)

For me, beautiful summer makeup would be light colors along with a pretty bronzer. I love pink lipsticks. A look I love to wear out would be plain on just the eyes. Just using eyelashes or mascara, and wearing some pink lipsticks. My favorite Mac ones are Saint Germaine, Snob, And Viva Glam Nicki! If you're going to wear foundation, I definitely recommend a good primer and finishing powder. They definitely help keep your makeup on longer and reducing the chances of it melting away fast.

I agree I think the lighter fresher look is what summer is all about. Find the pretty shades that suit you and keep it minimal. I do think a primer is essential for keeping powders (foundation/blush/bronzers) on longer. I have a mineral makeup website & send free samples check it out if you want, www.ebonyccosmetics.com everything is made in Australia.

Good luck anyway.

I don't do seasonal~ makeup, honestly. I wear whatever I want no matter what the season. (Of course, if it's raining really hard, I won't wear too much eyeshadow. :P)

However, I'm all about the tinted moisturizer during the summer (well, I wear it for all reasons, but) since no matter where you are in the US, and here comes the weather nerd talk, it's going to be really hot at some point so it's just better to have a tinted moisturizer than foundation on. Oh, and sunscreen. I've been trying to use more sunscreen that's not in my face product.

Actually, I'm finding that I don't like to go too crazy with blush now. Or maybe I'm getting bored of it? My face is pink enough so cold or hot, it can get even more pink and I don't need blush on top of that. So I'm trying to stick with more highlighting than blush...ing. :)

Nude is totally boring for the summer, imo. It's summer. It's fun! Bring out the pinks, peaches, fuchsias...

Too Faced came out with their own summer palette, so that may be something you could look at. It's got bright colours, but it's nothing over-the-top.

I wear whatever I want all year also lol. It really just depends on how much time I have to get ready and what I'm wearing maybe. If that.

this is my perfect summer palette. light pinks with some bronzer. eyeliner on the top eyelid, with mascara on the bottom and top eyelashes. It really opens up your eyes, and the bronzer helps to bring out your beautiful summer glow. I hope this picture helps :)

I always say that the best rules are NO rules. Apparently there is a dark lip trend running his spring and summer which is extremely interesting to me. I don't do anything drastically different from winter except lighten my colors a bit! (aka I haven't been doing a lot of heavy crease action lately!) However, I live up North and it's still cold here... we haven't really seen a summer day yet.

I wear less foundation in the summer and more powder because I don't want it melting off. Summer is pretty much the only season you can get away with not wearing much on your face, know what I mean?

In the summer, my face melts like a Popsicle. If you plan on wearing a foundation, this is what I recommend. During the summer, you should get a tinted moisturizer because it is not as heavy as a regular foundation, or go with a lighter foundation that has light coverage. And if you want to go ultra light, I would recommend a translucent powder. It takes the oil out of your skin and gives it a matte look, which is in season.

thanks everyone :)
im def gonna get a drugstore mattifying powder, most likely i'll look at tinted moisturizers, and snob by mac is on my to buy list as well as the too faced summer palette :)
i think i will play around with different looks for grad parties and graduation, but i love the ideas! coral and pink lipsticks sound perfect and im thinking cream blushes from nyx for some looks. maybe bright pink or peachy colors.. nothing too dark for summer and a lot of bronzer/highlighter glow!
