I live in a 2 bedroom house, But, my bedroom is really tiny, you walk in, and theres basically room for my bed on one end, maybe a nightstand on each side, and then at the other, a tall dresser, and maybe if I'm lucky a desk on the far side by the wall, but thats really pushing it, we dont have nights stands or a tall dresser right now, just a nice night stand with our tv on top.. so what is good storage for small spaces

Plastic stackable containers you could get from Wal-Mart or Target. My room is basically the same as yours & I have two containers with 5 draws for all my things.

Vertical storage! Take Ikea's idea and run with it. I live in NYC, and our apartments here aren't exactly spacious, if you know what I mean. I bought a standing etagerie that goes over my toilet in the bathroom, and bought three 3-drawer sterilite containers from Target to go across it. It's perfect storage for all of my makeup! (My collection isn't that extensive.) Hair products go on a shelf I put up in my bathroom, and the rest goes into storage below the sink or the medicine cabinet above!

I use a tall drawer set (i think i got it from Target) and it works well. Not only does it hold all my makeup and hair products, but it doubles for keeping school supplies, paper, etc. It's also tall and skinny so it doesn't take up that much room.

Do you have a closet, it may sound weird but I have a oddly small sized room as well and because I had some space Left in my closet, I put my make up there. I put up a shelf that I could sit at, used some sterlite drawers from the container store got a small stool and voila, DIY vanity.

Definitely vertical storage. I like using my closet as a dressing room and put a space for a small table to put make up or jewelry on. It just depends on the size of the place. I have had several apartments that I had to really find good use for the small space.

Try looking for something like this, if you have an IKEA where you live it would be awesome to check it out because they have so much storage ideas, and even if this is too pricey its ($159) they have so many other options and with the model rooms they can give you great ideas for a small place.

They have vertical bookshelves that you can easily make into a make up storage, just use different containers for different things, some times boxes can be too bulky, so try out some jars!

And if you don't have IKEA, try Target or the Container Store!

If you don't have tons of makeup then get a nice makeup case and a light up mirror. A makeup case isn't to bad as long as it has the pull out tiers and everything is properly organized because the most important thing is BEING ABLE TO SEE EVERYTHING that you have. Having a case means you can get ready anywhere (restroom, desk, table etc) and then you can put your case away without making your room look to cramped or messy. If you still want a designated makeup area then I recommend looking into the IKEA Micke Desk (single drawer). It's not too big and very affordable. Hope this helps.

I got the wall mounted modular from the container store (online) It's great to store makeup items in and it doesn't take up any room space since it's fixed on the wall. I'd also invest in some hanging jewelry or accessory bags because you can put them behind the door or hand them in your closet and they don't take up that much space either.
Here is a picture of my modular before I hung it.

i do the stacked plastic drawers and I love that method, I always know where everything is, however I am a college student and have to move to the dorms because my school has a requirement where i have to live X amount of years on campus or whatever, so during that time I just keep my makeup in a case, with tiers that open up as I open the lid, it only houses my favs but it allows me to take my favorite makeup back and forth. Both ways are super compact and easy, but I prefer the permanence the drawers, theres more space and customize-ability XD

Like the other ladies suggested I would look into putting a plastic storage containers with drawers in your closet or something. If you get one with large drawers you should get some smaller containers so you can minimize clutter and maximize space. I just organized my stash like this today!

I'm in the same boat. I managed to make room for a big (unattractive) tower of sterile drawers. Ihave a few smaller ones on top.

I have a vanity, as well, which is mostly where my everyday products are stored and thrown around.
