Hey Autum! I came across your discussion and I couldn't help but make a post! For the past 3 or 4 years I had suffered from terrible acne, I'm probably over exaggerating but it was pretty bad. Today I have the skin I've always wanted and barely get a single break out. I've developed a sort of skin plan that I'll walk you through quickly.
Mornings:
Before you apply your makeup splash your face with cold water then dry. Do this 3 times. It will close your pores so they won't get clogged by the makeup and it will also help wake you up! I usually use a toner after this as well. Before I apply my make up however, I apply 3 layers of Aveno cream to hydrate my face. I wait for each layer to dry before applying another.
Nights:
I use dead sea acne clear face wash and I absolutely recommend it 100%. It really does help clear my face and it smells really nice! Anyway, after taking your makeup off and washing (any wash with beads will do as well, like morning burst) (also make sure you wash with warm water to open up your pores) I will sometimes also put on my dead sea face mask which really helps get any junk out of my pores, which will cause a break out or two but it is so worth it. If not I use the dead sea Night moisturizer cream. Every other night I will take rubbing alcohol and put it on a face wipe and rub it into my skin, it helps fight infection! I then use ozonol on any imperfections or breakouts I may have or feel coming on, I don't rub it in.
Also, if you eat junk, you will break out. You have to make sure to drink a lot of water and eat well. Since becoming a vegetarian even, I've noticed a difference. You can also take multi vitamins and zink! I recommend going to see a dermatologist about your skin as well as everyone's is different. Another thing, when buying any face products make sure there is no oil in it! This will make you break out for sure! Try going for mineralized makeup.
If you are staying at a friend's or are out late and don't want to wash your face try OXY pads. It will dry any imperfections that may come up over night but I don't recommend it for everyday use as it will make you skin dry. I hope this helped!
I put a moisturizer on before I prime, always. You can never have enough moisturization, in my opinion! I find that my foundation always looks better when my skin is moisturized. Anyhoo, here's what I do, and I haven't had a major breakout in SO long:
Morning: Neutrogena Deep Clean Shine Control Cleanser/Mask, Cetaphil Moisturizing Cleanser, Olay SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer
Night: Burt's Bees Facial Cleanser (w/ Olay Rotating Brush Head), Neutrogena Deep Clean Shine Control Cleanser/Mask, Clean & Clear Astringent Toner, CeraVe Nighttime Moisturizer
It all works very well for me. I've been blessed with decent skin, but this makes it even more decent-er. =P I'm gonna be making a skincare vid soon on my channel I think. I feel like I get asked these types of questions a lot!
I have been using the Aveeno Clear Complexion Scrub for about four years now and it has always worked well for me up until recently. My face has been breaking out which is unusual for me. I usually get the occastional breakout, but I always have large pores on my cheeks and blackheads on my chin, nose, and forehead. I do not use a moisturizer because my skin has always been oily up until recently too, now I would say that I have combonation skin, so I am not sure if I should use one or not.
I clearly need a new skincare routine, so I was wondering what you girls do on a daily basis for your skin?! & if any of you have any suggustions on things that would work well for my skin type, that would be greatly appreciated! :)
(sorry if this posted more than once, bad weathers messing up my computer :/)
If your looking for drugstore brands try the clearisil blackhead face wash amazing stuff and u always want to ur a mositurizer even if ur oily moisture is water not oil so by not usin a moisturiZer ur jus dehydrating the skin which can actually cause mire breakouts look for a oil free moisturizer or a mattifying one more high end products u should check out the clear complexion line from boscia and clearclean 3 line from ren both amazing both at sephora murad is another brand that has a great acne line
Add a toner into your skincare routine with salicylic acid. Apply a benzoyl peroxide cream/gel at night time only where you break out. And always moisturize, just find a light oil-free formula :)
My skincare routine- day: Wash my face, use my pore-fection foam cleasner and wash off, toner and day (with spf 15 in) mousturizer. Night: take off my make-up,wash my face, foam cleanse and wash off, toner and night mousturizer, hope this helps as i only have 2 spots which came up recently as im not drinking enought water but apart from that my skincare routine gives my skin justice!
i recommend using
Cliniques 3 step skin care
i had the same problem as you when i was using neutrogina
and when i bought clinique my skin looked great . not oily no breakouts its heaven
Just Cetaphil cleanser twice a day. Every once in a while Cetaphil moisturizer. And if I ever get a breakout which is usually once a month, you know ladiesss, I use a Clean & Clear spot treatment lotion. I keep it really simple. I used to freak out about my skin because I'd get so much breakouts. I was trying acne kits and all the acne soaps from Neutrogena & Clean & Clear and everything... I had a big routine and kept adding to it to try to fix my skin problems. & In the end all I had to do was really simplify my routine and my skin is great and I haven't had bad problems in a long time. So thank goodness! Ahah.
Cetaphil used to work for me but know that i'm hitting my breakout years, i need something thats really gonna cleanse my pores... i have a variety of routines... When I'm showering, i wash my face with neutragena pomegranite acne wash... i dont reccomend using the pomegranite one when your not in the shower because it bubbles up and gets messy. (btw please excuse the miss spelling.) haha. The green neutrogena cleanser is alot better! simple® exfoliating wipes wake my face up in the morning and like every other night i use my blackberry true blue face mask from bath and body works. :)
I shower everyday and wash my face with St. Ives Green Tea Scrub which is perfect for reducing redness, blemishes, and ideal for sensitive skin. When I remove my make-up at night, I remove it with make-up wipes then exfoliate my face with Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion. Once I exfoliate I put on Ponds Clarant b3 moisturizing cream which helps get rid of acne scars. If I have any acne, I apply Proactive Refining Mask to the infected area and remove it in the morning with a wipe. When I wake up I apply break out free sunscreen with broad spectrum spf 55. Then I apply Garnier Fructis BB cream and then Even Better Clinical SPF 15 Foundation from Clinique. If I want more coverage I add a powder on top. If I still see that I'm breaking out I use a medicated concealer on the break out area to help cover and reduce the appearance of pimples. Once a week I'll use Biore Nose Strips to help clean my pores.
