I usually wash my hair everyday or at time when it gets super hot twice a day but i was reading some of this hair articles and there were mention of how your only suppose to wash it twice a week or even between 7-10 days. I was surprised. Is this true?? Or does it depend upon ur type of hair???

It depends on your type of hair...
Some people need to wash it everyday while others only need to once or twice a week

It depends on your type of hair and how easily it gets dried out. People with easily-manageable hair usually tend to wash it everyday. People with thick hair (e.g. African hair) only need to wash it once or twice a week :P

Generally, washing every other day is fine, IMO. (Personally, I wash mine only twice or three times a week.)

i think it's different for everyone. i can get away with every other day & even get an extra day out every once in awhile. it depends on how much product i used (using a touch too much serum or piling on a few products tend to make me greasy quickly) & if i've been back in the kitchen a lot at work (despite what you might think, that food smell doesn't attract the fellas! lol).

have you ever used any dry shampoos? they save my life on day 3 if i decide to reset my alarm (;

I wash mine two to three times a week, and that's really just because I'm lazy. It's a PROCESS to get my hair styled after it's wet. I'd say I have pretty nice hair, too. I get lots of compliments and I try to take good care of it... so I guess you don't have to wash it every day for it to look good and healthy!

I feel like I just sounded conceited in this post. Maybe I need a nap. =P

Some people say that washing your hair too often robs your hair of its natural oils, which is generally true- but unless your hair is already very dry, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. I feel like styling with heat is the real culprit there, at least for the few women I know who really argue about hair washing.

For me, it's just an issue of cleanliness. I sweat a lot over the summer, and it's just not an option to have sweaty hair!

In the end, if washing every day works for you, then just stick to it.

It depends because my hair is dry and doesnt get oily. So i font have to wash my hair 2 to 3 times a week. Usually i wash my hair once every 4 or 5 days.

I wash my hair every other day. However, my mom and my brother have more oily hair than I do, so using that as an example they can't really go a day without washing their hair or it tends to look 'greasy'. So as the ladies before me have said, it depends on your hair and also what works best for you. If you can go a day without washing it, it is healthier not to wash it everyday.

I go about every 3rd day, but in the summer it's a little more often but when I do that I'll forgo the shampoo and just wet it and condition the ends. It gets the sweat and dirt out without stripping the oil.

Should be every other day, or two days. Need those natural, healthy oils for your scalp! Especially when you dye your hair often, it'll preserve the colour, as well as the proteins in your hair.

I shouldn't be talking though, I wash my hair everyday.

The transition gets easier... it'll be really oily at first, but soon your head will stabilize and accustom itself to every other day, or other-other day
