I have kinky curly hair, probably 3c and 4a mix,a and yesterday I parted my hair down the middle to put it in a ponytail. I really liked it because it's different from my straight back curly ball, but I found it harder to make the hair lay down where it came closer to the middle. Any suggestions as to what I can do? If you can see from the picture, my hair is a little frizzy where it should be laying down. I don't want my hair slicked back tightly, but I at least want it to appear smooth without any hardening, drying products on my hair. I also have really thick hair if that helps at all. Thank you in advance!
Either set it ponytail at night or make this ur ponytail while its damp. Just use olive oil gel or smooth & hold cream by ohrs & smooth with ur hands not a brush
Try not to brush your hair too much. After washing your hair and letting it air dry a little either wet your hands with olive oil or coconut oil (I prefer coconut oil as it works better with curly hair) and scrunch it in your hair. This will leave your hair a lot smoother and more weighed down.
:))
I am working on taming my hair for these ponytails lol, but smoothing it with my hands sounds very helpful and seems like it will harm my hair less. I also love the scarf idea. I use a scarf on my head at night even when it is curly, but I never thought about using it as a tool for keeping my hair tame and neatly layed down in my ponytail at night. thnx for these tips!
Thank you for all these suggestions! Wrapping my hair with a scarf at night right after I put my hair into a ponytail worked. I just woke up and see? No frizziness (:
