So i'm always coming across women with big full beautiful hair, and when i ask them the trick to making it look so great, they just say curling, teasing, or it just comes natural. Well i tease, use powders, volume sprays, hairdryers, curling irons, and hairsprays and it's still not as great. I have a problem when i straighten and brush my hair, that i lose a lot of hair. Could that be it? How do I fix it? How do i get my hair full?
Oh hun, I feel ya. Same for me too. I guess if one is not born with a head full of thick hair, no amount of teasing or spraying will make it look that way. I think a lot of people out there rely on extensions. Perhaps you could look into that?
A great trick to getting volume is using big sexy hair root pump plus. Spray at roots of hair all over. Flip your head over and get most of the moisture out. When almost dry split your hair in 2 seconds down the middle from front to back. I know underneath is hard so round brush as best you can. When round brushing the top do it forward to over direct it completely. When all dry flip your hair back and voila big sexy hair!
Since you are losing some hair you may need to use a deep conditioner that specializes in volume. Pantene has great Volume Conditioners. Also I have found that not washing my hair everyday creates more volume in my hair. When I first wash my hair, it is very dense and light. As the days go on, I notice more thickness and fullness. Hope I helped!
My hair is hopeless when it comes to volume. I have to tease it usually, and within minutes it's fallen. I even had a hairstylist from Texas once be like "Oh, I WILL tease this hair." ...and it didn't work. So I'm kinda hopeless!
I find that my hair has more volume when I blow-dry it upside down. I try not to use too much product because it weighs my hair down. There is ONE product that I came across that really worked for me though. It's a hair powder you can get at ULTA by Osis. I used it when I was in RENT and needed to have big huge scene-kid hair.
I know you said you've tried powders, but I don't know if you've tried this one. It's extremely drying though, so be sure to deep condition after you use it!
Excuse the sluttiness of this picture. I played Mimi. :P
I'll eventually get it right! Maybe i'll try using hot rollers instead of a curling iron. Thank you for the responses ladies, I really really do appreciate it!
