I buy makeup from all different sources, but sometimes I just need that quick fix. In moments like that, I head to the drugstore. Inspired by the "worst brands" threads, what are some of the surprises of things you like from the drugstore? I always get a bunch of Ardell lashes and Essie nail polish is hard to pass up, although I've gotten most of the colors I really want at this point. I'm always looking for other things though... hair stuff is a new frontier. I'm not very up on what hair stuff can do these days.
Lorel Hip works great! I've never gone wrong with Wet & Wild or E.L.F. Cover Girls Lash Blast. All depends on what your looking for. There are some really great Drug Store brands out there
that have taken me by surprise. (:
Hard candy is by far my favorite. If you are looking for bright and different styles, I would go for that. They have lots of color mascaras, eyeliners, and very pretty bronzers and blushes. If you're into glitter, they have an awesome selection. I also enjoy the E.L.F. brand. Its cheap and it works just fine. If i am looking for something new and do not want to spend a lot of money at the time, thats the brand i would go to. (:
Wet n' Wild has improved their products (namely their eye shadows) so much over the past couple of years. I also love Revlon Colorstay Foundation and Revlon Lip Butters! Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks are fantastic as well (I just got Diva Red and it's the perfect red lip!)
IMO, Revlon is right up there in terms of excellent drugstore makeup brands, and I'd say it's probably the most consistent drugstore brand. I also like NYX. I also agree that wet'n'wild has come a long way with their products.
As a professional hairstylist even I like a good drugstore fix sometimes. My hair picks currently are Tresemme Dry Shampoo, and the EverCreme sulfate-free line from L'Oreal. Their Cleansing Conditioner is so awesome (if you like that sort of product) and I love their conditioners. Yum! I also adore L'Oreal Voluminous FalseLash Fiber Mascara (it's in the metallic gold tube.) Last but not least is the Garnier Miracle skin perfector BB Cream which is amaaaazingly easy! I've written about it several times, including today http://beautybylindsay.blogspot.com... Happy shopping!
ELF from Target is ridiculously cheap and I LOVE their products! Works well and stays on all day. I also love Revlon for foundation! I recently tried Wet & Wild lipsticks and though they don't have many colors and you have to reapply I still surprisingly liked those too! =)
I use to hate Revlon, idk what about it, just reminded me of older ladies? But now I love it, I really love there new nail polish line, the are offereing great colors, and they dry quickly. I also like there lipsticks, they never give me trouble, just know what you are looking for. Mascaras, I would say Maybelline, although I have pretty much stuck to the same one, (Maybellines define a lash) I always hear great things, but I know whats worked for me so I stick to it. I also like Rimmel nail polishes, Hard candy nail polishes get goopy too quick. Eyeliner, I like the liquid eyeliner from Almay, felt tip brush, and it's not streaky. I also like Rimmels Soft Kohl eyeliner, they last mostly all day unless I really start sweating or something. Almays TLC foundation works well, and really does last all day.

At one point in the past...once upon a time... Hard Candy was only sold in department stores. If i were to shop at a drug store i'd reach for that!
