hey guys
I'd love to have much wither teeth. But a professional bleaching is too expensive for me. So I searched the internet for homespun remedies and I found o lot of crap. But I've heard of brushing the teeth with backing soda is a very successful method?! I know how damaging it is but I need in a short time wither teeth, so I don't really care now. Have you tried it yet? Please tell me your oppinion to this..

i wouldn't do it. ecen though you know how damaging it is. you only have one set of teeth... and repairing damage is much more expensive than professional whitening... i can tell you, damaged teeth which lead to pain is not worth it... better try a special toothpaste which also has protective properties.

just buy some whitening strips. I like the 3D white by crest. gave me a pearly pretty smile. And remember that flossing is vital and when a person doesn't floss the left over plaque can stain your teeth. :)

Also try brushing your teeth with a whitening toothpaste AT LEAST 3 times a day if you really want to get inexpensive. Works for Me!

Some toothpaste already have baking soda in it. I read on there website, arm and hammer brand, that it's suppose to work, but i have never tried it. Baking soda is used in cakes/cookies/sweets i dont see the problem.

I use a whitening gel from Wal-Mart. It works well and its the same gel used in whitening strips. It even tastes the same... Kandee Johnson recommended it in a video telling how she whitens her teeth.
The packaging looks cheapish and like it won't work but it really does. Its about $8 I believe.

what has always worked for me is putting a good amount of baking soda on your toothpaste, do this for a while and your teeth stay white

I would just get some Crest Whitening Strips. Search for some coupons online. I wouldn't risk hurting my chops with some homespun recipes...but baking soda does work--I use it every other day.

Colgate has a toothpaste with baking soda, and that's the only toothpaste I use. I would also recommend the whitening strips, brushing your teeth at least twice a day OR after every major meal you eat, and flossing two times a day so avoid plaque buildup. Last but not least, I use mouthwash BEFORE I brush my teeth. I feel like it helps get any plaque that my toothbrush can't get off of my teeth, and then I brush and my teeth feel squeaky clean. I love it. Drink lots of water and eat healthy as well.

your best bet is to brush your teeth with charcoal and rinse with fresh pepper mint tea. You will see results in a week. It will also help to keep your tongue clean. In addition no matter how much you've heard this before, eat as much fruits and veggies as you can. Just think about it. All the animals that eat grass, fruits and veggies are know for having strong and white teeth eg, rabbits and horses.

You can also swish with hydrogen peroxide, just be very careful not to swallow. It's not pleasant but its gentle, cheap and effective.

Hey Mara, don't go for normal tooth paste which claims to whiten the teeth. Company's can get away with putting that on the packaging because the toothpaste will get rid of the build up from that day, which cleans them and essentially makes them appear whiter than they did that morning.

Proper teeth whitening products do work to some degree, but you'll find your teeth become incredibly sensitive after about a week of using it. I wouldn't suggest using proper teeth whitening toothpaste as a substitute for regular tooth paste.

I've used a blue light product: Applying the gel product and sitting with the blue light product over your teeth for about 5 mins. This is a great product for noticing a difference in colour. I don't remember the one i used as it was a while back, but it was about £30 and i used it twice for two weeks. I felt little discomfort with it over the two weeks as well so that was a bonus (although everybody is different, so you may feel discomfort). Once you've finished using the treatment, keep it up just by using regular tooth paste to keep them clean and healthy.

Sorry i couldn't remember the name of the product, but thought i would just give you a little overview on how it works and that i personally find it a reasonable solution to continuously using whitening tooth paste or baking soda. If you're interested, i'm sure there are similar product in your local chemist or online. xx

I found some whitening gel at CVS for $7, I think it's called 5 minute white or something, super cheap and it works super well :)

yes baking soda is effective, i've tried it myself. you can also squeeze lemon juice in your teeth to make them whiter. eating strawberries also make them whiter. don't drink things like orange juice e.t.c. because that will break down the enamel and your teeth will be more transparent/see through and that'll make them look more dull. it's like a nail: thick nails are usually whiter because they're just a block of nail. whereas thin, chipped nails are usually more see through/dull because they've been worn down.
don't drink coffee either
and don't drink anything coloured unless you drink it through a straw
try to get a lot of vitamin c in your diet too to get even whiteness because without vitamin c you will get random white spots on your teeth

you can also use whitening strips like the crest whitening strips. i also use the pearl whitening tooth polish which you can get pretty much anywhere

good luck xx

smash about 2 strawberries until they're a jam consistency add a teaspoon of baking soda and brush generously on your teeth rinse well and then brush with normal paste ONLY do this about once or twice a week but after 2 applications you can definitely see a difference.... cut off the caffeine soda and coffee

=( i wish some of this worked. absolutely nothing has worked for me: i've tried the toothpastes, i've tried the mouthwash, i've tried the gels, i've tried the whitening strips. i still have what i perceive to be ugly yellow teeth. i'm going out on a limb saying this publicly, but sometimes i believe i shouldn't smile so that people will never see. anyone try charcoal? i hear brushing with charcoal is great for whitening and as odd as it sounds, it also benefits digestion. the thing that really kills me is that i don't even eat anything that is typically known to stain, like coffee or smoking cigarettes, or even eating fruits/veggies without brushing soon afterwards.

Well, I didn't care about the products that damage the teeth either. SO now,I have damaged teeth. :D
I'd love to have whiter teeth too, but only bleached by the professionals. :)
anyway, my friends use white strips and they say it's helpful.
