I have been looking at many products by Mac and Inglot and can't seem to decide which are better quality and better to use. I was mainly looking at eye shadows to be honest. Any opinions would be great!
Mac isn't as great as far as eyeshadows as it used to be, I would steer faaaar clear from them!
Inglot shadows are like butter. They're creamy and smooth and pigmented, they're my favorite brand!
Steering 'far clear' from Mac is a bit harsh, but understandable if you've been burned. For that reason, I always read reviews or swatch first before buying Mac. That said, I have a lot of shadows from both lines. Price point and consistent pigmentation goes to Inglot. Two things Inglot doesn't have that Mac has is a broader range of warm, matte browns and complex shades. The lack of warm tone browns is a personal pet peeve of mine. Inglot shades are what 'what you see, what you get'. Ex: There are not blue shades with green sparkle or duo chrome shades.
I recently discovered inglot and love their shadows, but my mac shadows are tried and true and i love the ones i own. You should go to a mac counter or store to test the pigmentation of the colors you think you want, inglots shadows are amazingly pigmented and blend beautifully but you can mostly only get them online. I bought my inglot palette online mostly after researching youtube videos and guessing.
As a vegan, it goes to Inglot, and they are also paraben free, which is a bonus, and have great customer service, especially when you ask questions...I understand they can get to emails, bc they don't have the "empire" of followers that Inglot has, or the brands under their belts that Estee Lauder/MAC does. Many Inglot employees have already worked for MAC so the artistry is on point with both...I think some artists who can work at Inglot choose to for the opportunities, bc it is a smaller brand, and they can probably grasp those opportunities...I do have to say Inglot's colors are what you see is what you get, and there isn't shift, and dimension in tone, but I do feel that ease of application is where Inglot is at...the price point and pay off is there...MAC's shadows have more dimension, but you have to swatch and test, research and then buy...I prefer MAC lipsticks to MAC eye shadows...but Inglot also has amazing lippies...try em if you can...scents are fruity with Inglot lippies...but they do last all day...another thing to consider when buying MAC vs Inglot is collections...Inglot has more permanent products and MAC is all about collections...just something to consider when buying...MAC does have a lot of cult classics...but they tend to get discontinued after so long.
I suppose it depends on what products really. If you're looking at eyeshadows, I would definitely say go for inglot. I fell in love with them the second I used them. The pigmentation was amazing. I also liked the kinda fruity taste to some of the inglot lipglosss.
I haven't touched their foundations, powders and blushers though.
Inglot Gel Eyeliners are thee best out there. Eyeshadows are great also, but like Nichole H said, Inglot lack in unique shades/finishes. The freedom system is perfect for building a collection though.
I recently bought some MAC eyeshadows for the first time and their honestly not as good as i thought they would be and I've heard so much about inglot. but if your having a touch time deciding maybe you should buy one eyeshadow from each to help aide you in your decision cause I'm sure even if one is better than the other you'll still use the other eyeshadow so it wont be a waste of money :)
I love inglot eyeshadow. They have more bright and bold colors. But, when i go for a more natural look, i use mac eyeshadow. In the longrun, inglot has a better price.
I have not used MAC, but I have used inglot products and I LOVE their gel liners. I like to go to parties and rave events which tend to get a little steamy and my eyeliner or whatever I am wearing that night tends to melt off my face and I end up looking like a raccoon UNTIL inglot! I got lucky enough to try my friends out and that stuff STAYED all night long! It was amazing. The price and the quality of it is all worth it to me. So given that I have not tried MAC this may not be as useful but I do definitely recommend trying inglot out if you're looking for makeup that is sweat proof :)
I really like Inglot's loose pigments, they're highly pigmented :-). And I love love love their liquid foundation. I bought it 2 years ago for 16 bucks. It was really light weight with great coverage and it smells AMAZING. The only reason I haven't bought it again b/c the closest Inglot to me is in Times Square which is totally inconvenient, but their products are great and have really awesome prices.
I like MAC but when it comes to all the eyeshadow stuff.. well I wouldn't suggest it. Inglot has kinda creamy texture which really helps me so i would prefer Inglot unless you really need MAC because sometimes its useful.
Both brands sponsor different projects for me. I would say for foundation and for women of color MAC tends to be a better line over all. Inglot Eyeshadows and MAC shadows are very different...MAC is higher pigment and softer press, they almost feel creamy to the touch. Inglot is pigment and fill and dryer application so you get more fall out. Their color range is far reaching. One thing to think aboout if you are working on a diversity of skin tones is that darker complexions are not only darker, they are deeper. Some of the bright Inglot colors sit on top of the skin. My favorites from Inglot are the Gel Liner, The Corrective Pen, and the lip product.
I have some MAC eye shadows that no matter how hard I try, the pigment does'nt leave the pan, and others that give me wayyy too much. In fact one third of my shadows are pretty low quality from MAC. To be quite honest I love and respect MAC a lot, but truth be told a lot of the shadows I have, were to fill my palettes, because clients love to see MAC. I haven't used Inglots yet, but from this convo, I will def try them out now!

Inglot > MAC, by far. MAC is overpriced for what it is now.

I love them both! I have only tried Inglot's eyeshadows and gel liner though. I really want to try out more products.
MAC eyeshadows have always worked for me, their lipsticks are my favorite & I swear by their foundation.

I've heard from others too that Inglot is better than Mac, more like what Mac used to be (before they sold out to Estee Lauder).
