So I just bleached my entired head of hair and dyed it a vibrant blue-purple 3 days ago! I havent lost ANY hair but it does feel a little bit dry. I got it done at a salon and they told me to use a protein mask and deep conditioning treatments and recommended the Pureology brand but I'm completely dumbfounded as to where to begin because this is all very new to me (I had green streaks but it wasnt my entire head so I wasnt inclined to take very good care of it). I still havent washed it since I assume that washing it less often is one key to maintaining vibrant hair..although it is all over my pillow case.
Right now I'm more concerned about products that will help it get back to optimum health rather than keeping the color at it's most vibrant because I actually love the look of faded grungy hair and I live in a very humid climate so the drier it is the worse itll look when it frizzes up!
Anyways, any product recommendations? tips? I've done a fair bit of research but I thought I'd also make a thread so I could get some more personal suggestions.
There's this hair care line called Pro Naturals and they have all these products made with argan oil to help dry, frizzy or color treated hair to become soft, shiny and healthy again. They're really good and I use their whole line at my salon, I would recommend that you try them out or at least look them up online (try the beyas site) to see if you fancy any of their products. The shampoos would help you quite a bit and the argan oil (its silicone free) would just be very beneficial for color protection and dryness.
First, switch to a sulfate free shampoo. Not only will it keep your hair from drying out, it will help your color last. I like Deva Care No Poo.
For treatments, I like the Ojon dry recovery line and Nexxus ProMend. Don't skimp on conditioner. Bleach does serious damage. I like TIGI Bed Head, Biolage, and Sexy Hair for regular condition in addition to Ojon and ProMend. (I'm a bit of a conditioner hoarder)
The Palmer's Coconut Protein Packs are great. They are super cheap and you can get a few uses out of each pack once you're able to get your hair feeling good. Washing it less often will definitely help maintain the vibrancy too, so you should also invest in a good dry shampoo. I haven't found one that I love yet, but sprinkling a bit of baby powder on your roots has worked for me in the past. Good luck with your fun new hair, I just dyed mine back to brown from pink and I miss it already
Loreal Pro Naturals shampoo & conditioner line works very very good for dried hair, they come in a yellow container with a dark green cap. you can buy both at sally beauty supply earlier this summer i also bleached my entire head & went pink. it dried my hair out soo much & the loreal seems to work great with it. I also use a leave in conditioner. it's an ion brand moisture solutions leave in conditioner that works quite well
I am a platinum blonde and I use Paul Mitchell's Forever Blonde product line, it includes a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and a purple shampoo for toning out yellow. Great products!!

Try pureology, the whole line is sulfate free and designed for color treated hair. Pretty pricey but worth every penny in my opinion
