Hey Everybody,
So I randomly decided that I would use prom season as my start for breaking into doing freelance artistry. Proms are going to be going on for the next two months and I though that this would be something quick and simple to catch a young girls eye. My Fiance' is working at our old high school and some of the girls asked for my info so I thought that this would work fine until I ordered professional cards.

Please tell me what you think.
I planned to just make 4x6 prints for a few of his students

Its fantastic for a first try! a few things though: the colors are hideous together :/ also, I think it would be more eye catching if the whole card was a beautiful, bright, eye catching color (stark white, light pink, hot pink, electric blue, etc.). what I would do is center "Game Face Makeup Artistry" and have the "Available For" list centered as well.also, maybe take one item off (like "special occasions") or add one more (like party, or something) so the two columns are even.

I'd also get rid of "available for" and just have the list. for the contact info, I'd center it (again).

put a picture on the back instead (if you can), and maybe make it a really high definitely close up of your eye. also, on the back I would list a few specific, specialty look you can do (cat eye, smoky eye, hood eyes, ageing eyes, etc.). really utilize that space :)

and for prom season, I'd just kind of leave the "game face" off, its not very pretty or feminine, which is most girls goal with prom makeup (you could just leave it off for this season, then when you go to print up more cards, add it back on. by that point you should have a bit of word of mouth advertising, or at least some references).

over all, its not too shabby. if you don't listen to anything I say, please at least change the teal and purple. they clash, and not necessarily in a good way.

I hope that could help! I'm sorry if I sounded rude or anything, I'm on my phone and have a two line window to type with :/

I just saw that this is just to tide you over until you get professional ones. my bad haha. I thought you were doing it entirely by yourself. in that case, have you ever used fiverr.com? you can find some crazy talented people to design you a card for five or ten bucks, then you can go print them at office depots or kinkos or wherever.

the difference between that and just ordering cards from a business service is that fiverr people are generally artists who will work with you to give you the best; its more unique and custom :)

@ Kristi S. thanks for all of your input. I will probably change a few of those things definitely make the card white because I will probably print them at home since it was meant to be quick and temporary, it took like 10min to design. So the whole point was to only spend money for the printing. The cards are also only going to be one sided (quick & easy) and just meant to give them the contact info. I just wanted to make sure everything was arranged in a way where you could see everything because its only going to be the size of a regular 4x6 picture.

I would use a white background personally, it looks cleaner and will cost you less on the ink! I'm not keen on the font but thats totally your choice :)
