Picking what? Your nails, your lips, your skin?

Do you mean picking your face? I used to do that and have only recently stopped. you wouldn't believe the Improvement in my skin. The way I stopped was actually to get rid of big mirrors in my house. I used to stand really close to them and stare at imperfections and pick them. I also wore gloves when I was watching tv etc.so my fingers wouldn't scan my skin out of habit. I did this for about two weeks and then I had pretty much broken the habit.

I apologize if this question is too personal, but are you on any medication for ADHD? ADHD meds often carry a side effect of picking. Some people pick their nails, some pick their face, others pick at their eyebrows. If this IS the case, and you're on some medication, the only thing I can offer is that you just try to be more aware of the behavior and do your best to try and correct the habit when you notice yourself picking. (:

I used to pick A LOT and I am still trying to stop, but I am getting better. Once I was really upset because of this so I started looking for help on the Internet and found a site which helped me a lot. Its like a book that explains all the aweful things you are doing to your skin when you pick and how to prevent it. Now I post the link so you can check it out!

Ok well I used pick nonstop. "Isn't the look of her face enough to get her to resist the urge?!" I heard one of my friends say. That's when I stopped. I kept telling myself you don't want to bleeding or looking weird. One day it was my eyebrows, my zits, my lips... I guess I still pick a bit but I try to constantly apply a medicated cream so when I try to pick it feels sticky and I don't want to.
