My three year old came home from her dads with head lice!! I'm so freaked out shes never had it before and shes got long pretty hair:( I hate that fact I have to puy chemicals in her virgin hair, are their any other remedies I could also follow? myself, my brother and my mom are all treating ourselves with shampoo even though we don't have it that we know of. and also my hair is colored, will the shampoo strip it?

You could put cooking oil in it. my aunt did for my little cousin and get the pick comb try to brush as many out before you put oil in it. takes a while to wash out.

Head over the bath, loads of conditioner , and nit comb them out, do it everyday for about a week, but unfortunately the eggs won't come out like that! Only way to fully rid is if you put a treatment on it! Doesn't damage the hair and will kill all the eggs! If you don't and they get worse she will have to cut her hair , so ud much rather the first option!

Also after conditioner , use malt vinegar, soak the hair in it and leave it in for an hour, lice hate vinegar!

Don't forget to wash all of your linens and clothes, and if you have carpets/upholstery use a treatment for your house. Otherwise they'll keep coming back.
