You should choose one colour and add white for,the sponging. I did that and it turned out perfectly. So first paint your nail in the dark colour, than put some drops on a plastic bag (or whatever you can toss away) add a drop of white, put the spine in it, tadaa. Or take the sponge and already paint the ombre the way you like it on the sponge and apply on the nail. But that's so messy.

I think its a great first try. Mine was a total mess. I think you can use different colors. I agree with Payton. I have a hard time with polish so I use acrylic craft paint. Keep practicing.
