Haircut for my husband?

Hi ladies! So, my husband and I are metal heads and general musician types. Needless to say, he's been sporting long wavy locks for quite some time. However, he recently got a job interview and was told the hair would have to go--cut to the collar in the back.
It's been so long since he had shorter hair that he's forgotten what looks good! Haha.
Anyway, here he is in all his baby faced glory; can you help me choose a haircut that retains as much length as possible while still looking good? His hair is very thick an silky with a slight wave.
