Is it possible to get those type of curls from a perm? Or only by iron?
Would it also be possible to heavily highlight hair to achieve a similar blonde? I'm currently a chocolate/mocha brown.
Just feeling plain and LOVE her look in this video. :)

You can probably get a curling iron that does those curls:) just bet one for wide curls and put hairspray then keep playing with them :)

That can be permed. its a low set body wave and as long as youre able to use a low strength level perm soluftion there should be very little damage.

I have a 1-inch (I think, I'd have to go check it's box) curling iron but have yet to have any success in getting my hair to curl with it. :/ My hair is also shorter than hers...by about 4 or 5 inches, but I don't know that that matters.

Thank you Dina! My hair has always tolerated perms well with very little damage; so I'm pleased and excited to hear that it's doable! :)

I wouldn't perm it! You can EASILY achieve those waves with a curl wand. Wrap your hair around the wand for a few seconds (3-4) and set them with hair spray. Also - spraying dry shampoo on the ends will give it that messy texture. And as for the color - highlighys will work. Jusy ask for heavy foils.

I have a wand (a cheap Conair, but a wand no less) but always end up with too-tight curls. Even with a short wrap time. Would my length have anything to do with it?

Perm it or curl it do what works for you. if your doesn't hold a curl its prolly from the way it cools. try sliding the curling iron out without unwrapping the hair and pin it up until its cold. if the curl is too tight you need a bigger iron or make the curl larger before you pin it and that might help.

How it cools is more important than how hot the iron is or how long it stays on. but don't have it wraped for too short of a period either!

I may try it again. Maybe I'm just not doing something right! Lol.
Any ideas on a potential cut/style? I found a stylist and am going for an appointment tonight at 6:30. My hair is currently just a little past my chest (if you've ever seen those length charts floating around Pintrest; I'd be at about the 14" mark give or take a little) with side bangs and a layer that stops around the base of my neck. (A grow-out from a whack job I had 2 summers ago...my hair just does not grow well)
