I just graduated from esthetics school (taking my state board exam in a few weeks!) but I really want to get into being a MUA. I just don't know how to get it started and going. Any advice?

Make a profile and apply for the jobs on here www.starnow.com
At first apply for the independant and student films, they usually won't pay you but you'll get experience, accredited for your work and you get to take pictures for your portfolio.
For your makeup kit to use on clients, have things like:
Hand sanitiser
Big packet of disposable sponges
Tissues
Few different eyeshadow palettes (doesn't have to be top line, just as long as it gives a nice colour)
A concealler palette
Main colour foundations
Transluscent powders
Different brushes (powder, bronzer, blush, eyeshadow, blending brush, lip liner)
Few different lipsticks/stains.
Things like that. Then when you get more experience you can buy more high end things and take on more jobs.
I don't check this often so if you have more questions/need more help, feel free to email me at: missmareeindustries@gmail.com
