You can't mend split ends once they've happened, so it really is best to trim hair once every 1-2 months if you get them easily. Usually you only have to get a 1/4-1/2 inch taken off. This will help you with growing out your hair in the long run and not because it makes it grow faster, but because you're preventing your hair from major damage, breakage and keeping it healthy! Keep up with the masks and leave-ins, as they are healthy for hair and can help prevent split ends and breakage. Always use a heat protectant spray before blow drying, curling, straightening or whatever. If you can, add a hair, skin and nail or prenatal vitamin to your daily routine, it should help with growth, but everyone is different. As for the tangling and matting, is this when your hair is wet? Use a leave in conditioner, these can be beneficial to the rest of hair too if you get a good one. If it gets really tangled while dry, use an anti-frizz oil. I like organix keratin oil spray, which I was going to recommend to you anyway for strength and split end and breakage prevention. Smells great and can be used on wet or dry hair. I like to use it on dry for fly always, shine and to help my hair stay out of knots. Hope all this helps :)

I think if you apply if just to that under area where it gets tangled, it would help, plus its going to be a good treatment for your hair for strength. I would apply lightly on wet hair and then again on dry on that under area and brush it through. If you have the issue where you go to bed and wake up with mats and knots, braid or French braid your hair before bed

I've only heard of some products, such as shampoos, claiming they fix split ends, but in my experience I keep them trimmed so my hair doesn't tangle and split more.
