I'm a mua and beauty consultant for the last 2 years, I do freelance on the side but I just finished doing my friends makeup, I decided to try a glitter eye look on her to compliment her outfit, everything was goin great I took all the appropriate steps and then I applied the glitter base (hard candy show girl secret glitter adhesive) and all the eyeshadow under it disappeared then I applied the glitter (NYX loose glitter on the go) I just wouldnt stick and then after a while the bits that did stick clumped up, the more I tried to fix it the worse it got :( I fear I'm after sending her out looking like god knows what... any tips on where I went wrong or what I should do next time.

Oh no poor thing! I don't have an answer for you because I haven't worked with glitter yet. I'm eager to find out though because I could see myself doing the same thing.

Try using another base for the glitter. Personally, I use LA Splash Eyeshadow Base/ Sealer. I only use it for glitter because it's way too sticky to use as an eyeshadow base. When I do do glitter on my eyes, I apply a thin layer of the sealer, wait a couple of seconds for it to dry & pat the glitter on. I've also seen people use white eyelash glue for glitter.

I have used the hard candy adhesive and it works great. I think you applied it wrong. I put the adhesive on brush then dip into glitter then apply to lid. The adhesive is a watery consistency so if you apply directly to lid it's going to wash off eye shadow! Hope this helps!

N make sure you use a patting motion verses a swiping motion when apply glitter.
