So, I have to put mascara on first, wait till it dries, then clean up all the mess I've made on my eye lid. Then, I do my eyeshadow. Then, I do another light layer of mascara, to cover the shadow that got stuck in the mascara! Ugh. Any tips on putting mascara on without getting so much on my lid? My lashes are short so I'm trying to get root to tip covered! Help??

Hold a mirror below your nose and look down when applying. you can also try blinking instead of moving the wand to apply.

Try to keep your eyes open wide and take the stick to the root of your top lashes or as close as you can then slowly close your eyes so the brush goes through all your lashes

After applying your eyeshadow, gently place your pinkie finger over your eyelid and apply your mascara! The mascara el get on your finger instead of your eyelid ruining your eyeshadow. Hope this helps!

Heather, it always happens to me as well!! I use a cotton bud after applying the mascara to clean up the mess.. I'll try to do what the girls are suggesting!

Try to tilt your chin up and wiggle the brush through the lashes so that they're not as close to the lid and it doesn't mess up your eyeshadow!
