Weed does not because it only reacts with your mind. It's honestly not harmful nor an addiction.

Smoking cigarettes kills thousands of people everyday. Noone has ever died from smoking weed. In all actuality weed is actually a very good thing. It has so many benefits.

And I'd like to add, all this smoking kills crap is ridiculous. I learned what was good for me and I've smoke cigs and pot and was for quite some time... I can't say it's "wrong" to smoke but it's not BENIFICIAL... I am not going to judge though. No need to be rude ladies...

I can understand why people in this thread would be opposed to cigarettes - they are harmful to the human body, inside and out - and you don't have to smoke them to see that. However, you shouldn't associate marijuana with the cigarettes because they're two entirely different substances, therefore they'll have entirely difference effects on people. Non-smokers are too closed-minded to recognize this.

Then again, everyone's skin is different. I'm just asking that people who do not smoke refrain from putting their two cents into this thread unless they have a relevant point to make instead of the general "smoking is bad, so I'm going to say that yes, marijuana is bad for your skin".

Thank you ladies who gave me a real answer instead of just "smoking is bad". I didn't ask if it was bad because honestly nobodies opinions but my own could sway me because it is ultimately my own decision. Thanks!

Nice to know Beautylish is a community of pot smokers. No, it doesn't hurt your skin, and it doesn't hurt anything really, I just think it's a nasty hobby (not habit, because its not addictive), and the smoke itself probably isn't very good for you. But hey, whatever floats your boat. I can't judge, even though I have done it.

I think the reason people say that marijuana makes you break out is because when you're high on marijuana, you get hungry and eat a lot of junk food.

@kealey marijuana is very good for your lungs if you vaporize it. You don't have to like it, it's NOT bad for you, your just not for it and that's fine, don't put it down if you've never tried it that makes no sense!

Actually, Taboo (really interesting show on national geographic, highly recommend it!) has done an episode on drug use. A section of it was dedicated to cannabis, and a reputable doctor stated that the only way to KILL a mouse was to drop 25 pounds of weed from 5 feet high directly on it. The only way it's "bad" is inhaling the smoke, which can do a little damage to your lungs, however, there are alternative methods like edibles.
Anyways, like the other ladies were saying, the only thing that'll make you break out is if you smoke (especially indicas, which were made for insomnia and pain) and fall asleep without taking off your make-up, or if you eat a bunch of junk when you have the munchies. Cannabis itself won't do anything harmful to your skin though. :)

@shantele... Take it from the people who actually smoke pot - it's not addictive. Marijuana is not comparable to cigarettes in any way, shape or form so those who have never used it should not be so quick to pass judgements and generalizations about it.

@brittany I have done it many times and you do get addicted unless you are using it for pain relief oh and it doesn't do anything bad to your skin and is proven to help cancer paitents eat and help the experirence be less painfull

Right I wasn't going to bother but let's set you all straight about the addiction thing. Marijuana IS NOT and addictive substance, THC is not physically addictive. You can be MENTALLY addicted to weed in the same people people can addicted to coffee or something. After long term use if you try to stop most people will find it hard, because their bodies have adjusted to it and they LIKE to smoke it, its just like if after 5 years of drinking coffee every single day if you suddenly stopped you'd get withdrawal symptoms because your body has adjusted to having a substance that causes a physical change (caffeine). So no THC IS NOT PHYSICALLY ADDICTIVE, however it can be mentally addictive, particularly to those with an addictive personality. Just like many other legal substances can be!
There is ALOT of controversy and medical research about weed, we're not entirely sure why it effects people in different ways, there are basically no definites appart from that smoking weed with tobacco can lead to cancer (because of the tobacco)
there's are tons of doctors who have 2 completely different views on cannabis, you can't be so closed minded about it!

Why are people having a debate? We are here because Emma asked a question. this isn't debate class.

@Macy I'm not trying to argue but there are far worse possible side effects for any medications that anyone here could be taking. Everything in moderation right? I'm not asking you to smoke.

May 26, 2013

@macy... So much for non-smokers being the smart ones. And as for working at McDonald's, I think you should know that there are people who do AND don't smoke weed who end up working there until they're 40. I smoke nearly everyday, I have perfect skin AND health, and I'm currently pursuing Master's degree. Next time you want to be wrongfully judgemental, make sure you're stating facts and not your irrelevant, unwanted opinion.

Btw, I smoke a lot, 3 packs of cigarettes a day, my skin and health is perfectly fine, and I'm doing med school for gods sake.

No Mac Donald's for me, I'm going to be an oncologist in 8 years

Amen, Paige! I read that article you linked to, and it was AMAZING. My friend's mom smokes because she's had brain surgery, she was shot in the arm, and some other reasons I can't remember. She's not a bad person at all. In fact, she's one of the most insightful, inspirational woman I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I hate how everyone assumes that if you smoke marijuana that you must be a slacker and overall failure at life who's only contribution to society is laying around on the couch smoking 24/7.

I've heard that smoking cigarettes can but has anyone broken out from smoking pot? (disclaimer: I live in Washington) thanks!

May 25, 2013

I don't think it does, but I'm not 100% sure :)

Someone asked this a while ago and I said no but I noticed I did start getting more spots when I started smoking again. It's kinda just normal again now though. Perhaps it was just the sudden change from smoking none to smoking loads.

Smoking in general makes your skin bad so I'm inclined to say yes
