I also believe it IS an addictive drug! I couldn't sleep without it. My boyfriend, FIL & brother need it to calm themselves down. After seeing what's its done to so many people you realize how disgusting it really is!

...unless of course it's for cancer patients etc.

Yes... It does! Marijuana makes your skin dull and dry... And can sometimes give you wrinkles! And yes it does make you break out!

Right I wasn't going to bother but let's set you all straight about the addiction thing. Marijuana IS NOT and addictive substance, THC is not physically addictive. You can be MENTALLY addicted to weed in the same people people can addicted to coffee or something. After long term use if you try to stop most people will find it hard, because their bodies have adjusted to it and they LIKE to smoke it, its just like if after 5 years of drinking coffee every single day if you suddenly stopped you'd get withdrawal symptoms because your body has adjusted to having a substance that causes a physical change (caffeine). So no THC IS NOT PHYSICALLY ADDICTIVE, however it can be mentally addictive, particularly to those with an addictive personality. Just like many other legal substances can be!
There is ALOT of controversy and medical research about weed, we're not entirely sure why it effects people in different ways, there are basically no definites appart from that smoking weed with tobacco can lead to cancer (because of the tobacco)
there's are tons of doctors who have 2 completely different views on cannabis, you can't be so closed minded about it!

Oo a better way to explain the coffee thing- if you use the exact same skincare routine on your face for 4 years if you suddenly stop or change the products your face will have a reaction, and its practically the same when you stop smoking weed. Your body has adjusted to it so if you take it away your body will react. Like when people say they can't sleep when they stop smoking, that's because they've become used to having something to help them sleep, just like if every night you had a cup of horlicks before you went to bed after a few months if you didnt have the cup of horlicks you'd struggle to get to sleep.

^^ it's the same if you smoke a spliff every night before you go to sleep.

It depends. I smoke and I used to have a lot of acne but now I rarely get them (and I still smoke). I guess it's the hormones. And also balancing, I suppose. My eating habit is healthier now and I regularly wash my face so I suppose it balances it out.

Smoking causes major premature ageing and wrinkles especially around your mouth as it starves your skin of oxygen so that's not good.

Personally I have never broken out from smoking but my boyfriend's friend does. If he stops smoking, his break outs stop. He thinks it's the smoke tho, not weed. but if you get the munchies then of course eating bad food could cause you to break out.

I would like to just make a tiny point... But whomever said its like coffee... Your damn right. BUT coffee is considered a drug by doctors now.. Caffeine in itself is a type of drug and coffee is PHYSICALLY addicting. So... Maybe not the best point on your part, my dear. Now like I said earlier, I smoked for quite some time and quit because really the worst effect from weed is how my way of life was crippled. I really just became some broke, unmotivated, tired woman. I don't judge people that choose to smoke, in just saying.. It weighed me down and held me back... I don't see why it's beneficial for anyone to smoke unless they're doing it for medical reasons. I started because of insomnia... But my addictive personality wanted it throughout the day... Soon I saw myself fading the line of using it for sleep and smoking just to be high. I hated that... So I quit.

And whoever said it isn't addictive, your totally wrong on that. It has over 400 unknown chemicals in it that haven't even been touched nor studied. And as for not being able to kill you, it can cause strokes , heart attack, and many more things but if you die from it, they will lit the cause as heart attack or stroke, even if the weed did cause it. Idiots. Go ahead and ruin your life. Kill your brain cells so all you can do is work at McDonald's until your 40. Maybe you should've paid attention in health class.

Intaking any harmful substance will effect your health. drink a lot of water to reverse that effect. I noticed that my hair growth isnt as fast as it should be because I've increased the times I smoke a week.

Why are people having a debate? We are here because Emma asked a question. this isn't debate class.

All I got to say is inhaling smoke etc. is going to affect your health causing side effects. You've pretty much answered your own question by asking this.

@Macy I'm not trying to argue but there are far worse possible side effects for any medications that anyone here could be taking. Everything in moderation right? I'm not asking you to smoke.

I don't know anyone that has had a break out after smoking. I don't smoke myself so I guess I'm not completely sure, but my friends have beautiful skin. Probably better than my own haha.

Hmmmm...if you smoke all you will do is become dumb and work at mcdonalds?? tell that to all the doctors, lawyers, major ceo's, and everyone else who doesn't let smoking interfere with their success. I am one of those people. No, it doesn't ruin your skin. No, it doesn't make you stupid. No, it doesn't ruin your life UNLESS YOU decide to let it. /endthread

I agree with Kealey! When you get older it will make you ugly.

Weed only messes with your mind temporarily, it is not extremely addictive like cigarettes. It doesn't have a direct impact on breakouts or aging or anything like that. Also it will not ruin your future and life unless you let it get out of control.

@macy... So much for non-smokers being the smart ones. And as for working at McDonald's, I think you should know that there are people who do AND don't smoke weed who end up working there until they're 40. I smoke nearly everyday, I have perfect skin AND health, and I'm currently pursuing Master's degree. Next time you want to be wrongfully judgemental, make sure you're stating facts and not your irrelevant, unwanted opinion.

Thank you Rhiannon. Talk some sense into these people.

Pot doesn't affect your skin, if you're smoking a pure blunt, but it's always mixed with Tabasco which may react with your skin.

But be carefully, most people say marijuana isn't addictive, well it is.
I'm dutch, and pot is normal here, every town has a dealer, and it's perfectly legal, but the THC which is in pot is highly addictive. (we learn that at school, and I do medical school)

So pot can be good for you, as painkiller, relaxer, or just for fun, doesn't hurt your skin.

But be careful please, I've seen a lot of people who lost everything because of this simple soft drug.
