Nice to know Beautylish is a community of pot smokers. No, it doesn't hurt your skin, and it doesn't hurt anything really, I just think it's a nasty hobby (not habit, because its not addictive), and the smoke itself probably isn't very good for you. But hey, whatever floats your boat. I can't judge, even though I have done it.

It's funny you bring this up. My friend was actually just telling me how clear her skin has been since she started smoking more! I don't have much personal experience, but as far as skin goes I'd say it's not bad for it! :)

I think the reason people say that marijuana makes you break out is because when you're high on marijuana, you get hungry and eat a lot of junk food.

I agree w/ Sherry. Your change in diet and the fact that you might pass out before washing your face lol.

@kealey marijuana is very good for your lungs if you vaporize it. You don't have to like it, it's NOT bad for you, your just not for it and that's fine, don't put it down if you've never tried it that makes no sense!

This thread is about skin not your stance on medicine.

No it's not bad for.your skin at all I smoke everyday because it helps with my arthritis and I've not noticed anything but benefits from smoking!

I agree with Laura B. and Ashley V. Using a vaporizer is much better than any other method of inhaling marijuana smoke. And if you're smoking weed and breaking out, it's not because of the weed itself - it's because you're eating the wrong foods when you're under the influence and you may get tired and fall asleep while you're wearing makeup. It's not the marijuana though. I like to eat fruits after I smoke... I've never experienced any problems with my skin whatsoever (and I've been smoking for 6 years. Only pot, never cigarettes).

Its funny reading that people say pot isnt addictive

Actually, Taboo (really interesting show on national geographic, highly recommend it!) has done an episode on drug use. A section of it was dedicated to cannabis, and a reputable doctor stated that the only way to KILL a mouse was to drop 25 pounds of weed from 5 feet high directly on it. The only way it's "bad" is inhaling the smoke, which can do a little damage to your lungs, however, there are alternative methods like edibles.
Anyways, like the other ladies were saying, the only thing that'll make you break out is if you smoke (especially indicas, which were made for insomnia and pain) and fall asleep without taking off your make-up, or if you eat a bunch of junk when you have the munchies. Cannabis itself won't do anything harmful to your skin though. :)

@shantele... Take it from the people who actually smoke pot - it's not addictive. Marijuana is not comparable to cigarettes in any way, shape or form so those who have never used it should not be so quick to pass judgements and generalizations about it.

Nahhh, I've done it forever my skins clear!!

Okay aren't drugs bad period? So obviously it's going to damage more important things than your skin. Now if you are doing marijuana please quit because even though I don't know you guys I care about your lives.

Way to stay on topic people. This thread is about it being bad for your skin not it being bad for you in general.

I don't think it's bad for your skin. People that I know that smoke do not have acne or skin problems.

@brittany I have done it many times and you do get addicted unless you are using it for pain relief oh and it doesn't do anything bad to your skin and is proven to help cancer paitents eat and help the experirence be less painfull

Nope it's a plant :) just keep your teeth clean and don't be lazy with it you'll get bad health.

After reading this, I think it's pretty evident it relies heavily on the person smoking to determine whether or not it's bad for your skin. I've seen people who smoke a lot of marijuana and it cleared up their skin, yet for others it made it worse. Personally, I don't smoke it, but I know it CAN be addictive depending on a lot of different factors. As I said before, it's all about the person who smokes it!

Laura K.

It can be addictive if laced with LCD, cocaine or other drugs, but straight up marijuana is fine. Not addictive.

May 26, 2013

Laura K.

And I agree with Kamaria, I think it depends on your skin type and your hormones.

Yessss!! My MIL has been smoking weed since she was 14, she is now 41 & no word of a lie looks like she should be in her late 60s! Sorry but I have never met or seen an attractive pot smoker! I smoked once upon a time but stopped when people started pointing out my 'druggy marks' I got from it.
