I went to get color matched at my local Macys store because I want sure what color I was. I always chose something too light for my skin. Now if I'm interested in purchasing a drugstore foundation, I use my high end foundation that I was matched for as a guide and go from there! :) Hope that helps.

Pick three foundations you think will be a match...apply three swatches vertically on the side of your face, between neck and chin. Take a face makeup brush. Stroke down once. The shade that disappear is your match. Some muas won't let u see their brushes. Understandable. If there is a makeup sponge near the display of makeup take that. ;)
