Does anyone have any simple nails ideas I could try out? I'm a complete novice with small nails or can anyone recommend cheap nail polishes that already have a pattern within them?

Water marble! Paint your nails a white coat then take a bowl of water and a few colors and drop nailpolish in. Each time you add a new color drop it in the middle of the last color then take a tooth pick and use it to swirl a design and when done dip one or two fingers in! If you need a video tutorial look up water marbling on YouTube.

Leopard spots. they are easier then they look do some irregular dots spaced out on your nails and then outline the spots with black the less perfect the more realistic they look then add some small black dots and dashes between the spots and voila!
