If you notice it is getting worse (bigger or more swollen) within 24 hours you should definitely go to a doctor. It could be a staph infection. If its something like MRSA it is extremely contagious and it could really hurt you. It usually starts off innocent looking, like a bug bite that doesn't itch. Sorry to be dramatic :( Its a bit hard to tell from the photo, but you should keep an eye on it, and update us too ;)

I'd go to the doctor once I had something like that on my stomach and it was like something from the heat I forget what's it called.

Definitely go see an MD cuz it may be more serious than just a bug bite or pimple. I agree with yohanna! May be shingles cuz you mentioned lotsa pain! Lately shingles can appear anywhwere on body, whereas before only along main nerves..google for mor info:) Take care n seek professional help cuz shingles are very contagious esp babies/elderly:(
