I know some MUA says its better to go lighter than darker, foundation wise. but how light is too light?

I guess just try and Match it to your skin the best you can try it on you jaw line rub it in and if it disappears it all good a also be aware of under tones some people have pinky and some have a yellowey look so if you want a good match look out for that:)

I usually buy one shade lighter, and then use a powder or bronzer to contour and blush to add colour. I'd rather look a bit pale than orange :) but I wouldn't go more than 1 shade lighter
