I've heard makeup artists occasionally put the finishing powder on first, then the foundation. That makes it so the powder absorbs sweat before your foundation can melt off. I've also heard wonderful things about setting sprays to avoid cakiness :)

Primer, Mattifying foundation, and a setting spray. I use Givenchy Mister Mat Primer, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra foundation, and Urban Decay De-slick spray.
